RECAPS OF GAMES ON JULY 25……
First to report in is TEAM BRAFMAN……..again!!!!!!
reported by MARC BRAFMAN…..
BRAFMAN 7 WEISSER 5
TEAM BRAFMAN continued to find a way to win as they defeated TEAM WEISSER, 7-5, in a very
close well played game…..
“What a fun game to play in,” BRAFMAN said afterwards. “Good pitching, fielding and clutch
hitting on both sides. We were happy to come out on top. I say it every week, but once again it was a
great team win for us. Everyone contributed in one way or another.”
The offense was paced by JOEL “THE WRATH OF” KAHN and DAVE “THE MINISTER OF FUN”
COHEN with three hits a piece…..JEREMY “HAMILTON” FOGEL, RILEY ABLE, BEN “B-ROD”
RODRIGUEZ and AARON “STRAIGHT OUTTA” COMPTON also contributed to the cause……
“I’m like Cher. Ever since I announced my retirement from the JCC softball league, I’ve gone 5 for 6.
At this rate, I think I’ll retire every year and keep hitting,” COHEN stated after the game.
As usual the defense was stellar all night led by LEON “THE BULL” SESSERMAN who made a
couple of great plays at 3B including turning a nifty 5-4 double play.
Also getting into the act were COMPTON making a great diving catch in the 7th inning and ERIC
“THE MOUTH OF THE MIDWEST” GRUEN, living up to his nickname by loud calling out where
to throw the ball all game and helping end three straight innings by beating the runner to second base
on force outs…..
Also, a special shout-out to MIKE “FLASH” CREEMER who called a great game behind the
plate……
Finally, no game would be complete without the play of JASON “THE MAD HUNGARIAN”
FAUST……he gave up only five runs and made a couple of great plays in the field, all while playing
with a sore and swollen hand.
He commented after the game about his battery mate, “It’s nice to have a catcher that knows me and
my quirks. That way when I get in trouble, he can come out and calm me down before it gets out of
control.”
Next up…….vs. TEAM GREFER…….
Up next……..
reported by KYLE GREFER……
GREFER 12 LEADER 2
MIKE GRAY was the story in this game as he not only pitched a fantastic game, but went 3 for 3 at
the plate…..needless to say, he was the MVP of the game….
Other notables……GARY FISHER with a bases clearing three run double and GRIFFIN HARRIS
with a ground rule double and a variety of running catches in the outfield……
