GAME RECAPS……FAMILY NIGHT….
LEFTON 16……………BRAFMAN………….6
BRAFMAN VERSION……
Simply put, “It was not a good night for us. Boy did they hit the ball. Sometimes you just have to
shake your head and say, we’ll get them next time and that was the case tonight. We tried our best to
stay in the game, but it wasn’t our night, “MARC BRAFMAN stated after the game.
On the offensive side for the losing squad, BRAFMAN, MIKE CREEMER, DAVE “THE
MINISTER OF FUN”, BEN “B-ROD” RODRIGUEZ and JASON “THE MAD HUNGARIAN”
FAUST (triple and home run) led the offense.
“My theory on hitting is to hit it where they ain’t, said a winded FAUST afterwards.
On defense, they were paced by JEREMY “BILLY HAMILTON” FOGEL who continued his gold
glove play in the outfield and LEON ”THE BULL” SESERMAN turned a nifty 5-3 double play with
JOEL “THE WRATH OF” KAHN.
“I know at the start of the year I struggled a little with my fielding so for the last couple of weeks
instead of reading me a bed time story, my roommate TAYLOR SCHWARTZ and I have been
watching the TOM EMANSKI fielding videos. You don’t win back to back AAU national titles unless
you know what you’re talking about. With Taylor and Tom’s help, I know I can win the gold glove one
day” SESERMAN said afterwards.
ROSENTHAL VERSION……….
In what might have been their best game of the season, LEFTON played well on both sides of the
field……
At the top of the highlight reel were three home runs…….ALEX LEFTON, playing in front of his
girlfriend, smoked a pitch over the centerfield fence and was mobbed by his teammates after he raced
around the bases )photo on the league Facebook page……MICHAEL ROTHSTEIN homered as well
with a monster shot that split the outfielders as he used his “speed” to circle the bases and finally,
rookie BRAD GALLOP, son of EDDIE, drove a walk off three run shot over the outfield in right field
to put an exclamation mark on the ten run victory……
SCOTT BERGE, playing his last game (he’s headed to Ireland for work) had a monster day at the
plate as did DAVID WERTHEIM (again)…….also getting in on the fun were MICHAEL KAHAN,
JIMMY LEFTON, RICK LEFTON, ROGER ROSENTHAL, DAVID “D-SOL” SOLOMON, and
finally EDDIE GALLOP, who got a key hit prior to his son’s poke.
“My motivation for getting to home was for Brad not catching me, ” the father said afterwards.
OF NOTE…….ROTHSTEIN did not have one play hit to him at shortstop…..FAUST came in from his
home in Columbus to miss the first pitch by one batter, but was out of the car and to the mound in
20 seconds ready to go……typical Jason!!!!!!
