TEAM GROH held off a late 6th inning four runs rally by TEAM GREFER to escape with a 5-4
victory……
Making his 2018 debut, RYAN SMALL had a bases loaded triple and later scored on a RYAN BAUM
grounder……with the game winner off the bat of DAVID WEIL after BAUM, TODD WASSERMAN
and JERRY KIRZNER had singles…….
MIKE GRAY and GROH were throwing up zeroes most of the game with great defensive gems by
MARC SIMONS, KYLE GREFER, TAYLOR SCHWARTZ (sub) and ADAM CRONSTEIN
however, TYLER STANSBURY was the defensive player of the game making several plays at
SS………

TEAM BRAFMAN lost a hard fought game vs TEAM SOLOMON…..
“I tip my cap to Stu’s (STU SOLOMON) team as they hit and field the ball well and Stu
(WEINSTEIN) kept us off balance all night,” BRAFMAN said afterwards.
The second year captain added, “We’ll rebound and get back on track next week.”
While the bats were mostly quiet, MIKE CREEMER, ERIC GRUEN, JEREMY CANTOR and
DAVE “THE MINISTER OF FUN” COHEN all collected their first hits of the young season…..
On defense, RILEY ABLE, JEREMY FOGEL, AARON COMPTON and LEON “THE BULL”
SESERMAN each contributed with nice plays….
JASON “THE MAD HUNGARIAN” FAUST had this to say after the game, “I’m basically a finesse
pitcher without the finesse.”…………EDITORS NOTE……typical JASON!!!!!!!!!

As they did last week, TEAM LEFTON fell behind big early in the game, but couldn’t repeat what
they did last week and came up one run short…..
Acting captain, RICK LEFTON said afterwards, “Tough game, but we never gave up. We kept
fighting.”
On offense, kudos go out to battery mates, catcher DAVID SOLOMON and pitcher MIKE
ROTHSTEIN……….

In a game that featured the league’s most veteran pitcher, HOWARD SCHWARTZ, and the newest
pitcher, DAN GREEN, the rookie came out on top in this one……
Aside from great pitching, the game featured fantastic defense by TEAM LEADER sparked by
spectacular plays by ALEX KRAUS at 2B and BOB PELBERG behind the plate…..
A trio of new and newly returning players, ERIC GOLDSTEIN, JONATHAN SMITH and RAFI
GOLDFARB were major contributors…….
The winning team was missing superstar ANTON LOOOOOOOOOOOOOON, but welcomed back
perennial All-Star RANDY BROILS, who was absent in the first week loss…..
“We’re looking forward to early May when both players will be on the field together,” said captain
GREG LEADER.
