LEFTON…..LEADER…..ROSE……ALL WIN……LEADER HAS BIG WORDS……
The first to report in on their game was RICK LEFTON as TEAM LEFTON knocked off TEAM HIUDT, 14-4….they fell behind 4-0 in the opening frame, however, JIMMY LEFTON shut the door the rest of the way and eventually took the lead 5-4 only to bust the game open and win in five innings with a nine spot with COREY NORRIS driving in the final runs…..afterwards, RICK LEFTON commented, “We finally played up to the much talked about potential.”….
Elsewhere…..
TEAM LEADER defeated TEAM FOGEL, 16-3, as JAMIE KURTZER pitched a gem including a three pitch 1-2-3 inning followed up by a four pitch 1-2-3 inning which team captain GREG LEADER believes tied a JCC softball league record……the defense was sharp all game and offensively, they were led by JOEL KAHN, who was perfect at the plate and by subs DAN HIUDT and JEREMY BRANDON, who punished the ball throughout the contest……
BIG words were said after the game by LEADER as he vowed that this game was the first step towards a championship, “The is the most talented team I’ve ever seen in my years in this league. Our guys are getting healthy at the right time.”
He added, “We may have lost to TEAM ROSE in the regular season (twice), but if they reach the finals, we’ll be there waiting and will win the hardware that counts.”
A big shoutout to WILLIE WAXLER, who is on IR, but had to play because of a last minute cancellation of a player……the wily veteran came through with a hit…..how about that?
TEAM ROSE continued their winning ways with a 12-2 victory over TEAM GUTTMAN avenging their lone loss of the season……the story was KEN GROH as he pitched another great game and kept the big bats at bay……kudos go to the defense as they came up with some nice plays with stars going to RANDY BROYLES at 3B and MARC SIMMONS at 2B/RF….For the record, in their nine wins, six have been ten run games…….
