TEAM LEADER and TEAM ROSE both went to 2-0 as they each recorded ten-run rule victories…..
TEAM LEADER defeated the winless TEAM WEISSER, 21-7, as a 12-run 4th inning proved to be the difference….JAMEY KURTZER won his second game while pitching a masterful game and going 4 for 4 at the plate….JOEL KAHN played a flawless first base and contributed from the plate as did rookie DAVID “JUMBO” WERTHEIM who ended the contest with a barehanded catch at 2B…..
TEAM ROSE fell behind by six runs in the top of the first inning only to come back to tie it and take control behind the pitching and hitting of KEN GROH….other standout performances were recorded by MIKE KADETZ, who missed the season opener, had two key base knocks, ZACH SWADNER and MICHAEL ASKIN, continuing their total on base percentage and finally RYAN SILVERMAN, who after struggling early in the game at the plate, smoked two key hits, to help produce the ten run margin…..
It should also be noted that RICK LEFTON, in spite of his team losing, had a very eventful 50th birthday, which extended after the game to a local establishment…..HAPPY BIRTHDAY RICK LEFTON!!!!!!
