Games that have been reported in so far…….
*TEAM WAGNER notched their first victory of the campaign with a 11-5 win over TEAM GREFER…..key hits came off the bats of JORDAN COHEN, HOWARD GOLDWASSER, team captain, BRAD “WAGS” WAGNER, MARK WEISSER and DAN STEINBERG….on defense, STEVE OSTROW, MIKE KAHAN, sub SCOTT WOLF, MATT STEINBERG and WILLY WAXLER all provided nice plays……Key hits for the losing squad came from THE FRANKLIN COMBO, GIGGY and MARK WILDER and THE COHEN COMBO…..returning Rookie Of The Year, MARK “TEXAS” WEINGARTEN played a solid shortstop after a rookie season in the outfield…..KUDOS go out to MARK WILDER for his first career hit in JCC play and also for his double that cleared STEVE OSTROW’S head to keep the game from being a 10 run rule……afterwards, WILDER promised more of those hits as long as Papa provided chicken wings…..
Next up for TEAM WAGNER is TEAM LEFTON (ESPN U)…..TEAM GREFER battles a slumping TEAM CRONSTEIN on XM channel 129 (blacked out locally)……
**TEAM LEFTON won their second game in a row with a 9-8 victory over the slumping TEAM LEADER……DAVID SNYDER and STEVE “Z” ZAWATSKY had clutch RBI hits….the defensive play of the game was turned in by the LEFTON battery mates of JIMMY LEFTON and RICK LEFTON on a JOEY GOLDBERG comeback grounder to JIMMY with no outs and the bases loaded on a 1-2-3 double play…..game ball went to JIMMY LEFTON, proud father of ALEX LEFTON, now employed by the BLOG…..

****TEAM ROTHSTEIN defeated TEAM GUTTMAN in a thriller, 6-5, in a game that went back and forth……MICHAEL ROTHSTEIN, who hit a two out two run single with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 7th inning, was given the game ball and said afterwards that he was very humbled by it…….both pitching staffs performed well as COREY NORRIS AND STEVE “DONUTS” EPPSTEIN split duties again for the winners, while JASON FAUST pitched admirably for the losing team…….
TIDBITS……..BASEBALL QUESTION OF THE NIGHT……can a starting pitcher get a victory and a save in the same game????????
