Thursday July 2……….11:43 a.m……….winners were……. TEAM WERNICK, TEAM EPPSTEIN, TEAM LOOOOOOOOOOOOON and TEAM GREFER………..first report comes from the GAME OF THE WEEK……..TEAM LOOOOOOOON defeated TEAM SCHWARTZ, 7-6, as BRENT LANSBERG knocked in the winning run in the bottom of the 7th inning……captain ANTON LOOOOOOOON commented after the game, “Look out for TEAM LOOOOOOOON. We’re feeling it”……..meanwhile TEAM EPPSTEIN defeated TEAM FRANKLIN, 6-5, in what was described by captain STEVE “CHICKEN WINGS” EPPSTEIN as a well played game with good pitching, defense and timely hitting…..the game ball went to MATT STEINBERG, who had a homerun and played a flawless shortstop…….kudos also go to MIKE CREEMER, who threw out newcomer sub DANNY SHOTT trying to steal in the bottom of the 7th inning…..what is this recent University of Michigan graduate thinking being down three runs?……..it proved to be huge as the one run did make the difference……teammate MARK ”GORDY” GORDON commented afterwards, “It was a stellar pitching performance by Eppy.”……rumors had the pitch count at 63 for the game, where normally that is about 30% for an entire game!!!!!!!………also it should be noted that STEVE EPPSTEIN paid for all the dinners of his team afterwards……rumor has it the bill was in four digits with all the wings that were eaten…….finally……TEAM WERNICK defeated TEAM NEWMAN, 15-5, as WEE WILLIE WAXLER a.k.a. TRIPLE W had some words of advice before the game to get his team ready for the second half…….JOHN BERG hit and pitched his way to the victory with help from captain DAVE ”SAY HEY KID” WERNICK who once again made some unbelievable catches in the outfield……rumor has it that a new video is coming out with all the catches of this unbelievable player at a store near you……….details to follow……STEVE OSTOW chipped in with some key hits and let everyone know about it……..MIKE SMALL, who’s wife is expecting a baby any day, came up with some big hits and again played a flawless shortstop……..the second half should be interesting with the war of words starting between unnamed players from teams vying for the second half title…….STAY TUNED……comments should be sent to r.rosenthal@fuse.net……
