After trailing the first five innings, the victors came roaring back late to keep the winning streak going……Super Sub, RANDY “TEX” BROYLES kept the hitters off balance all afternoon…..
Key defensive plays came from ANDY “NEW KNEES” HELDMAN, RAFI “VELOCIRAFTOR” GOLDFARB, ADAM “VOTTOMATIC” CRONSTEIN and sub ZACK “ZZ” ZAKEM…..also, DAVE THE SHOT HEARD AROUND THE J” SOLOMON made a runner look silly when he tried to steal second base on him……
Big hits came from ‘SUPER” JAMES SWAN, RILEY “ROUNDING SECOND AND MAYBE HEADING FOR THIRD” ABLE, JARED “WANNA BE CAPTAIN” KAMRASS and captain MICAH KAMRASS, who was a homer away from the cycle……
Also, GOLDFARB tied a record he set earlier in the season for farthest hit resulting in an out when the other team’s sub, who was recently cut by the Florence Freedom, robbed him of extra bases while crashing into the fence……
“We’re peaking at the right time,” said the captain. “I wouldn’t want to face us in the tournament.”

After coming off a tough loss the game before to TEAM SCHWARTZ, H., TEAM LEFTON put a complete game together……hitting….defense and especially pitching……
Captain JIMMY LEFTON pitched perhaps his best game of the season and silenced the opposing team’s heavy bats as the loss stopped their ten game winning streak……
“I felt really great today. I like these 2 p.m. starts. I’m going to ask the softball commission to schedule more in the future. I had my fastball, curveball and change-up all working today,” LEFTON said afterwards.
“I was able to relax out there as I got up around noon, had my usual pre-game meal of peanut butter and jelly on wheat bread and fritos. I had two scoops of chocolate ice cream and I was ready to go,” he added.
The defense was almost flawless and the offense came up with some timely hits thoughout the batting order…..
The only negative was ROBERT PELBERG suffered a minor back injury midway through the game and had to leave, but was still on the bench coaching up his teammates…….HERE’S TO A QUICK RETURN……
On an interesting note, BRAD GALLOP was in XAVIER shorts!!!!!….not bad, but considering he is going to the UNIVERSITY OF CINCINNATI for his freshman year starting next week…..NOT a wise idea…..
“That is not the UNIVERSITY OF CINCINNATI I go to,” said teammate JEREMY FOGEL…..however teammate ROGER ROSENTHAL offered GALLOP $5.00 for the shorts and said to GALLOP, “Now you see the light. Go to UC for your education, but root for the “real” team.”
