FYI………

We have a world class softball player amongst us in the softball league……can you guess who it is?
No, it’s NOT me!
It’s PETE SPOERL!!!!!!
Pete not only plays in the JCC league, but plays a handful of games per week for an Ohio team that takes softball to the next level.
Playing with a bunch of guys about half his age (Pete isn’t that old, he’s 54 years young), he participated in the International Softball Congress Fast pitch Tournament in Kitchener, Ontario Canada recently.
Playing mainly as a designated hitter and sometimes first baseman or third baseman for the Westerville, Ohio Capitals, his team captured second place in their division after being eliminated earlier on in the preliminary round.
Spoerl, a three sport star (baseball, basketball and football) at Hamilton Badin also is in not one, not two, not three, but four Hall of Fames…..the Hamilton Badin High School, Xavier University, Butler County and State of Ohio.
Way to go PETE SPOERL!!!!!!!!!!

TEAM LEADER defeated TEAM LEFTON, 25-12, in a five inning affair, preventing them from clinching the first half title……captain GREG “SPIDERMAN” LEADER reports the team hit an amazing .725 in the game (29-40) which included an unnamed player (I know who you are) who normally plays first base and is tall and is……..NOT wearing his team shirt which meant an automatic out…….super star ANTON LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON had to leave the game after only three batters due to a dislocated middle finger on his right hand, but the team rallied in a BIG way after spotting TEAM LEFTON with a 6-0 lead, to come back and make a rout of the game…….hitting stars were MATT STEINBERG, with two triples and six RBI’s, SCOTT BERGE, 5 for 5 and JERRY KIRZNER, 4 for 4…….

Early reports are that LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON will miss 1-2 weeks, but knowing him, he’ll be ready come tournament time…..

TEAM LEFTON will have another chance to clinch the second half and a possible # 1 seed vs TEAM ROSENTHAL, who is fighting to stay out of the play-in game…….the game can be seen on ESPN U with yet to be named guest commentator……..

TEAM WAGNER knocked off TEAM WEISSER, 16-10, behind the hitting and pitching of JASON FAUST…..among his feats were strikeouts of the 2, 3 and 4 hitters in TEAM WEISSER’s line-up and going 4 for 4 at the plate…..PETE SOLTESZ played a solid LCF and hit a grand slam after opposing pitcher MARK WEISSER decided to intentionally walk MIKE ROTHSTIEN to load the bases only to have it backfire……other hitting stars were the ageless wonder, TED KANTOR, ROTHSTEIN, MIKE KADETZ (NO spring chicken), BRAD WAGNER and JAMES SWAN…..
TEAM WAGNER tries to continue their winning ways as they square off against TEAM WEISBROT with the game on a tape delay on WTKO, Tokyo’s ABC affiliate……
