SOFTBALL BANQUET COMING NEXT MONTH…..

The 2016 JCC FAST PITCH SOFTBALL LEAGUE banquet is scheduled for Sunday November 6 at a time to be announced soon…….

The event will be held at the Jewish Community Center with the featured guest speaker, DOUG FLYNN, former infielder for the Cincinnati Reds.

Also, individual awards will be handed out for various honors including MOST VALUABLE PLAYER…..ROOKIE OF THE YEAR…..CAPTAIN OF THE YEAR….OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR……DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR……AND MORE!!!!!

In addition, team trophies will be handed out for regular season (1st and 2nd half) titles and the tournament title…..

Food and beverages will be served…..if you have any dietary restrictions, please contact commissioner BRAD WAGNER in advance.

The event is free and open to JCC players only…..

The 2016 All-Star game is in the books and the blue team captained by STEVE EPPSTEIN and ROGER ROSENTHAL defeated the white team, captained by RICK LEFTON and RON ROSE, 18-5…..in a game played Sunday night…….

The winning squad consisted of…… ADAM CRONSTEIN….BRANDON GUTTMAN….COREY NORRIS……COREY SCHWARTZ…..DEE HARRIS……JEFF WEISBROT………..JEROMY FOGEL…..PAT FELDMAN………RYAN. SILVERMAN….TAYLOR SCHWARTZ…….TYLER WOLF……ZACH HUIDT……MARK WEISSER……KEN GROH….

*IT SHOULD ALSO BE NOTED THAT THERE WAS A MOMENT OF SILENCE FOR WILLIE FINKELMAN, LONGTIME VOLUNTEER SCOREKEEPER, WHO PASSED AWAY RECENTLY……

We are sad to report that longtime JCC volunteer WILLIE FINKELMAN passed away earlier today…..for those who didn’t know him, Willie was a fixture at softball and basketball games as the official scorekeeper and never missed a beat…..he will be missed…….
