TEAM CRONSTEIN notched two victories over TEAM SCHWARTZ as they won the opener (2nd half game), 11-6, and 26-16 (completion of the first half game) in six inning fashion….it should be noted the winners had to play with only nine players…….

In the opener, CRAIG SAREMBOCK led the offensive charge with four hits and hitting for the cycle (home run, triple, double and single…..for those that don’t know what it is) and scored three runs…..MICHAEL ROTHSTEIN also had four hits in four at bats with two doubles and scored three runs….

In the nightcap, there were many offensive moments as you could imagine when scoring 26 runs….there were three home runs, one off the bat of SAREMBOCK and and the others off the bats of
ROTHSTEIN and captain ADAM CRONSTEIN, who snapped out of a three game batting slump, both went 7 for 7 with CRONSTEIN hitting for the cycle and scoring six runs……

Also to be noted, JOEL FOGEL, whose team had a bye, was in the stands watching three of his players perform for the winning side…..son JEREMY FOGEL went 3 for 4 and scored twice….DAVID WEIL (NO beers on Sunday?) and DAVID SNYDER each went 3 for 3 with four runs scored….

On the pitching side, MIKE GRAY continued his season long excellence throughout the heat, while the defense was up to stuff as rookie NEIL NADEL played a sound 3B for the first time and MICAH KAMRASS played a solid RF especially on LARRY NEWMAN, who hit three line drives to KAMRASS…..

After the game, members of TEAM CRONSTEIN were heard saying the two victories were just what they needed to snap them out of a mid season funk…….

and for the three members of TEAM FOGEL it was nice to be part of a winning team for a change and that they would prefer to play of the same field as TEAM CRONSTEIN every week as their lone win came a few weeks ago vs…….TEAM CRONSTEIN…..

ADD-ON TO THE CRONSTEIN WIN OVER SCHWARTZ….

MICHAEL ROTHSTEIN contacted me and said that kudos should be sent MICAH KAMRASS’ way for a grand slam in the 6th inning of the suspended game that put them up by ten runs and for making a game ending catch with runners on 2nd and 3rd thus preventing the game to go another inning and not having to play in the heat and humidity……

TEAM LEADER defeated TEAM GREFER in both the completion of the first half game and again in the second half match-up…..

For the second time in a row, captain GREG LEADER was NOT there and acting captain ANTON LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON was in charge and is now undefeated at the helm………

In the suspended game, the victors rallied from a three run deficit in the bottom of the 7th inning to win, 12-11…..while in the regularly scheduled game, they had things under control from the start in a 14-9 victory…..

BEN SANDOR, DOUG SANDOR, RICK TENENHOLTZ, RANDY BROYLES, PHIL GANSON and up and coming rookie star BEN ROSENBERG led the team offensively, while on the defensive side, RYAN SILVERMAN continued his gold glove play in LCF with several outstanding catches…..SILVERMAN’S wife GALITE was heard muttering in the stands, “Damn, I didn’t know I was married to Mickey Rivers”.

According to LOON, an interesting situation with the captain ship might take place if and when LEADER decides to come back to play….similar to the NBA’s GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS when STEVE KERR, the head coach was out and LUKE WALTON took over leading LOON to quip, “We know how that turned out when they went back to KERR.”……..STAY TUNED TO AS THE LEADER LEADS??????

STAR SIGHTINGS……

COREY and TAYLOR SCHWARTZ and RYAN SMALL were all spotted at the MONTGOMERY INN Thursday night……NO autograph seekers were in view, but maybe their fans just didn’t want to bother them…….YOU THINK?????
