LOST AND FOUND DEPARTMENT…..

PHILLIP GANSON is offering a reward (a BIG one) for anyone who can come up with his father’s coffee mug that was left at the fields (1-3) two weeks ago….it’s blue with a grey screw on top and says Aladdin on the side…..

If found, please return to him for that BIG reward……….hee hee…..

In what might have been one of the best endings of the season, TEAM WEISBROT defeated TEAM CRONSTEIN, 5-4, in extra innings…..

Trailing by a run in the top of the 7th inning, COREY NORRIS started the inning with a single and eventually scored the tying run on a fielders choice….

In the bottom of the 7th inning, STEVE EPPSTEIN, the wily veteran, was able to escape a bases loaded NO outs situation by inducing a ground ball double play hit to 3B PETE SPOERL who stepped on third and fired home to ALBERT WEISBROT to cut down MICHEAL ROTHSTEIN who represented the winning run…..after an intentional walk reloaded the bases, super sub, JACK COHEN gunned down MIKE GRAY at second base for the force on a grounder to him in LCF…..

In the top of the 8th inning, PAT FELDMAN scored what proved to be the winning run on a hit by NORRIS and then in the bottom half, captain JEFF WEISBROT snared two would be hits at SS to thwart a comeback……

It should be noted that TEAM WEISBROT has lost their fair share of tough games this season and were due for one to go their way……After the game, EPPSTEIN and the WEISBROTS were finally able to talk about a win……

TEAM LEADERLESS KEEPS WINNING STREAK GOING……..

In a battle of two 2-0 teams, TEAM LEADERLESS defeated TEAM HIUDT, 9-6, behind the pitching of RANDY BROYLES and the hitting of rookie PHIL GANSON, who also received the game ball….

ANTON LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON moved to 4-0 as an interim captain…..One must wonder if and when GREG LEADER shows up again, if he’ll be welcomed back…..?????

In attendance were GANSON’S father, MICHAEL, BROYLES’ wife, AMY, and RYAN SILVERMAN’S wife, GALITE, to cheer on their favorite softball team……

NOTE>>>>>>GALITE can maybe remind her husband, OREN SHMOEL, to bring his shirt to all games to avoid being an out his first at bat……

Next week, LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON will take the mound against TEAM WEISBROT as BROYLES will be vacationing with his family to an undisclosed location……..Does this mean that family is more important than softball??????

*WEDNESDAY JULY 6, The league sponsor, FRANKLIN WEALTH ADVISERS, will be hosting ‘CHICKEN WING NIGHT” at the SILVER SPRING HOUSE after the games……PLEASE NOTE….it games are rained out, the festivities start at 8:00 p.m……

**The make-up game for the JUNE 15TH rain out (suspended game) is tentatively scheduled to be finished on WEDNESDAY AUGUST 10……

***The Second Half FAMILY NIGHT will be announced at a later date…..STAY TUNED……
