TEAM WEISSER, the #4 seed,  used the combination of great pitching, solid defense and timely hitting to rout top seeded TEAM ROSE, 11-0, in a six inning game….MARK WEISSER pitched a brilliant game only allowing one runner to get to third base and got solid SS play from WES WOLF, back after a brief injury.….each player contributed at the plate and turned a close 4-0 lead in the fifth inning into a 11-0 rout after six innings, thanks to a seven run sixth inning….

The game is schedule on Sunday September 20 at 5:30 p.m. at the Cincinnati Reds Urban Youth Academy (old Roselawn Park, where the JCC played many a games a long time ago)……

The Home Run Derby is scheduled with a TBD……

Food/Drinks will be available, however alcohol is prohibited…..

Game Results: September 3, 2015

Top seeded TEAM ROSE escaped with a 12-11 victory over upset minded #9 seed TEAM HIUDT when they scored three runs in the bottom of the 7th inning to pull out the win…..they were down to their last out when MARC SIMONS, sub ANDY HELDMAN and ROGER ROSENTHAL all came up with base knocks to produce the tying and winning runs…..also of note, RANDY BROYLES  went four for four to lead the offensive surge…..
TEAM HIUDT played a solid game and took it to TEAM ROSE for the better part of the game, however AARON COMPTON went down with a unspecified injury late in the game and forced them to play with only nine players on defense….

In other action, #6 seed TEAM GUTTMAN upset #3 seed TEAM LEADER, 13-7, as the proud new Abba, JASON “BIG HAUS” FAUST led the way with a 5 for 5 at the plate including a home run, double and four runs scored and a brilliant pitching performance.
“He pitched better than any pitcher I’ve seen in this league in several years,” team captain BRANDON GUTTMAN said after the game.
Faust struck out six batters including several against some the league’s best hitters.
BEN “B-ROD” RODRIGUEZ had a monster of a game with a triple, double and four RBI’s…..TODD “THE MACHINE” WASSERMAN was huge in the field.
“He had total focus out there,” Guttman commented.
GRIFF HARRIS, future league MVP?????, had five hits, all missiles……can papa DEE HARRIS say that?…….actually he can…….
The JERRY (KIRZNER) and LARRY (NEWMAN) show combined for six hits….
“It was a total team effort and we’re kind of hungry baby, ” concluded GUTTMAN…..
they’ve won five in a row and face off vs. #2 seed TEAM GREFER next week……STAY TUNED…..
Also of note, as previously mentioned in the blog, JOSH FRANKEL hit back to back home runs in consecutive at bats in two different games…..the question is raised, has this ever happened in this league before?
