First captain to report in again is ADAM CRONSTEIN……

TEAM CRONSTEIN defeated TEAM LEADER, 15-5, in a five inning affair….

Key plays by rookie JORY ZOLA, filling in at third base and MICAH KAMRASS in left field, led the defense, while on offense, the 8-9-10 spots in the order were big keys as rookie NEIL NADEL went 3 for 3….JARED KAMRESS went 2 for 3 and the “cagey” old-timer ANDY HELDMAN, who seems like he’s been playing forever, went 3 for 3…..

The victors led 7-1 thru four innings as MIKE GRAY was able to control the big bats of perhaps the two best hitters in the league, ANTON LOON and RANDY BROYLES, however in the top of the fifth inning, TEAM LEADER pulled within two runs at 7-5, but in the bottom half of the inning, TEAM CRONSTEIN exploded for eight runs to notch the ten run rule victory…….

“This the type of game I think we have. We aren’t a major power hitting team, but we’re going to put a lot of guys on base and we should be able to score a lot of runs with consistent top to bottom hitting,” CRONSTEIN said.

OF NOTE……it was the pitching debut of RANDY BROYLES and the jury is still out if he can pitch at this level of play……

TEAM CRONSTEIN NIPS TEAM GREFER IN SEASON OPENER…….

TEAM CRONSTEIN defeated TEAM GREFER, 5-4, in walk-off style as the rookies were instrumental in the win…..trailing 4-2 entering the bottom of the seventh inning and JAMIE KURTZER, in what seemed like control of the game, the victors tallied three runs to gain the win…..
DAN LAUDERMILK was 3 for 3 with a triple, stolen base and two runs scored including the game winner….JORY NOLA got a game tying two run single in the seventh inning……NEIL NADEL was  1 for 2 and caught a beautiful game thrown by wily veteran pitcher MIKE GRAY….and last, but not least, CRAIG SAREMBOCK went 2 for 3 and had the walk off double to deep center field…..

Captain ADAM CRONSTEIN remarked, “Our game was an exciting one. Collectively we had some trouble offensively for most of the game. JAMIE (Kurtzer) kept us off balance and the sun was an issue for some at the plate.”
