BETTER LATE THANK NEVER DEPT…..

Please forgive my tardiness for the week in review…….we moved yesterday and things have  been a little hectic….

WINNERS………LEADER….LEFTON…..WEISBROT….WEISSER….

RECAPS…..

TEAM LEFTON, a.k.a. THE GREEN MACHINE, defeated TEAM GUTTMAN, 11-1, as “WEEZE” LEFTON played an around great game on the field and at the plate…..he went four for four and had three runs scored….STEVE ZAWATZKY (3B) and JIMMY LEFTON were strong in the field…..

TEAM WEISSER defeated TEAM FOGEL, 9-4, as TYLER WOLF belted two two-run home runs…..MARK “WILDER” FRANKLIN contributed with a double……

TEAM WEISBROT pulled an upset by defeating TEAM ROSE in convincing fashion, 17-7, JEREMY CANTOR had three hits….BENJY SANDOR had a key two out two run double….TED KANTOR had a big two out RBI single and captain JEFF WEISSBROT may have had the game of the year as he wasn’t retired all game and made all the plays at SS….great defense was a key as DOUG SANDOR at 3B and STU WEINSTEIN on the mound had Play of the Game-type plays…..
After the game, TEAM ROSE seemed dazed as they lost only their second game of the season, but has little time to pout as they have TEAM GREFER coming up this Sunday with first place on the line…..

BETTER LATE THAN NEVER DEPT…….

TEAM LEFTON defeated TEAM WEISBROT, 5-4, as they celebrated DAN STEINBERG’S birthday with a W…..JIMMY LEFTON gave up four runs early, but shut the door on the hitters the last three innings to lead the way…..

Game Results: August 6, 2015

In action last night……

It seemed like last year since TEAM ROSE played, however they didn’t miss a beat as they defeated TEAM FOGEL, 14-4 in a six inning affair…..the whole team, as they have done all season, contributed to the win, however the game ball went to MICHAEL ROTHSTEIN with his hitting and defense, however a loud shout-out goes to long time player MIKE “KT” KADETZ who was a double shy of the cycle…..that’s right, he stroked a “JCC” triple and home run and played a stellar 1B….KEN GROH pitched and fielded a great game as usual…..

In other action, TEAM LEADER defeated TEAM GREFER, 15-10, as they exploded for nine runs in the 6th inning and came back from a 10-3 deficit, but the real story might be that captain GREG LEADER was vacationing, while brother in law and acting captain ANTON LOON took command….the question is who IS in charge on this team?…….
Before the game, there was a power struggle between LEADER and LOON on who would lead off and guess who won?……after the game, many players reportedly were heard saying, “Greg who?.”….

Back to the game……the brother duo of COREY and TAYLOR SCHWARTZ combined for a 6 for 8 at the plate and COREY made a nice running catch in the 7th inning and was awarded the game ball, but promptly handed it to teammate JOSH LISMAN who caught the final out in RF…..
