In results from last night’s games that have been reported in at press time…….

TEAM SCHWARTZ had their best game of the year in defeating TEAM LEADER as JOSH LISMAN went 3 for 3 and JEFF “DUFFY” WOLF had a big clutch hit……AARON COMPTON and RON ROSE contributed as well as ROSE “legged” out a hit……the defensive play of the game was made by rookie JACK COHEN, who gunned out a runner at home with a laser throw……speed also was evident as SCOTT WOLF (WHO ELSE?) and COHEN led the way………

TEAM WAGNER has now won two games in a row as they defeated TEAM LEFTON, 10-1, thanks to the pitching of MARK WEISSER and the fine defense from STEVE OSTROW, MICHAEL KAHAN and JORDAN COHEN, who also hit his first homerun of the season and was seen being interviewed afterwards by an ESPN crew…..JOHNNY BERG was welcomed back and came back with a two hit night…..other key hits came off the bats of DAN STEINBERG, MATT STEINBERG, MARK BLOOM and WILLY WAXLER…….for the losers, captain RICK LEFTON didn’t have much to say about his teams’ performance afterwards, but it was reported by opposing captain BRAD “WAGS” WAGNER that DEE HARRIS, forced to play SS, JERRY KIRZNER and STEVE “Z” ZAWATZKY played some solid defense….next up for TEAM WAGNER will be TEAM LEADER, a game to be aired on FOX SPORTS WEST with the play by play provided by the one and only GUS JOHNSON……TEAM LEFTON battles the slumping TEAM CRONSTEIN in a game that will be aired on the YES NETWORK………

TIDBITS…….BRAD “WAGS” WAGNER and ADAM CRONSTEIN were spotted after the games talking to one another……….hmmmmmmm…….possible trade??????……….kudos go to STEVE “DONUT MAN” EPPSTEIN who played last night with one NASTY bruise on his thigh…….and from the HOW ABOUT THIS DEPT……..DAVID WEIL drank a record low ONE beer last night……he said he had jet leg from coming home from Germany the night before……

ATTENTION JCC SOFTBALL PLAYERS………

Now here is what I’m talking about……..JEFF NASH of TEAM GUTTMAN and STU SOLOMON of TEAM ROTHSTEIN have already started a war of words leading up to their clash tomorrow on Field 4…..TEAM GUTTMAN, 4-0, vs. TEAM ROTHSTEIN, 2-1, is the ESPN Game Of The Week with the cameras being set up as I type this……..sources say the trash talking started last Wednesday at the Back Porch Saloon and has escalated each day leading up to the BIG game……STAY TUNED!!!!!!

Rumors are flying around as well concerning the job security of captain BRAD WAGNER, off to a 0-3 start…..all their games have been close and they’ve been missing key players each week, but General Manager, STEVE OSTROW, who moonlights as a contractor, wants results NOW!!!!!!….STAY TUNED!!!!!!

WEEK #2 SUMMARY……TAKE #2…..

THANKS TO AN ANNOYMOUS CUB REPORTER, we now have a report on TEAM CRONSTEIN…..under rainy conditons, they won their second game in two tries with a 15-2 thumping of TEAM LEADER…..two key hits (both bases clearing triples) were distributed by veterans DAN “COSTCO MAN” CRONSTEIN and GARY “JUST ASKIN” ASKIN….my question is…..were there oxygen masks waiting for both 50++++ year old players when they got to third base?????……MICHAEL “THE CARDS” SMALL, MICHAEL ASKIN and ADAM CRONSTEIN all played stellar defense, while pitcher STU WEINSTEIN held the opposition to four hits…….

ANY SUGGESTIONS FOR NICKNAMES OF PLAYERS IN THE LEAGUE……..PLEASE KEEP THEM AS CLEAN AS POSSIBLE…….
