ROGER’S HOT CORNER…………
Friday June 18….11:04 a.m…..two games have yet to report in from Wednesday’s action so the BLOG had to take action and here’s a report from the game it was involved in….TEAM CRONSTEIN recorded a come-from-behind victory, 10-9, over TEAM LOOOOOOOON, scoring two runs in the bottom of the 7th inning to pull out the win….trailing 9-3, captain ADAM CRONSTEIN, after threatening his team with a midnight workout that night, hammered a three-run homerun in the 5th inning and then scored two more in the 6th inning to make it a 9-8 score going to the 7th….BARRY KAPLAN shut the door in the top of the inning to give his team a chance and they came through…..ROGER “ROGZILLA” ROSENTHAL led off with his third hit in three tries and after a MAX POTVIN hit, pitcher DAVID FOX threw a wild pitch and both runners advanced….A. CRONSTEIN bounced back to the mound and neither runner could advance and after an intentional walk to MATT “THE EAGLE” STEINBERG loaded the bases, rookie ANDY GAGE got a single to left field that scored the tying and winning runs….again, ROGZILLA played a stellar 2B with a fine catch on ANTON LOOOOOON’S pop-up to end the 7th inning with his back on the ground in one good, but very awkward looking play….it should also be noted LOOOOOOON was thrown out by A. CRONSTEIN trying to stretch a single into a double early in the game…..good call by the umpire, eh ANTON??????….NO REPORT YET ON THE USUALLY RELIABLE BRANDON GUTTMAN, but the BLOG knows that they defeated TEAM SILVERMAN, 10-3, (correction from 6-2) in which GARY “JUST” ASKIN reports that the pitching of “SUPER” STU WEINSTEIN, with his changing speeds and the stellar and dominating defense kept the losers at bay….questions/coments to r.rosenthal@fuse.net….. HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!!!!!!!
Team Lefton Scores 15 runs!!! Maintains perfect season!
The power of Team Lefton is in a word Awesome! Team Eppstein was star struck, intimatated, and just totally overwhelmed!
As promised this WAS the game to watch! 31 runs crossed the plate. The ball was flying like chicken wings off of a plate at the Silver Spring House. It’s hard to score more runs then chicken wings one can eat, but the 2 teams did it! Everyone on Team Lefton contributed to the win. There were homes runs, stolen bases, a few great bunts and of course some key defensive plays. Team Lefton Keeps it’s perfect season intact, 0-5. Team Cronstein watch out! All the chicken wings you can eat await you!

ROGER’S HOT CORNER…………
Thursday June 17….3:29 p.m….two games to report at this time….TEAM SCHWARTZ knocked off TEAM KIRZNER after jumping to a big lead behind the hitting of “STORMIN” NORMAN FRANKEL and BEN “B-ROD” RODRIGUEZ and key defensive plays by EZRA LAVENDA and BEN “GW” HELDMAN….ithe other rported game to date, TEAM EPPSTEIN notched its’ first victory over TEAM LEFTON, still looking for that first win, 16-15,….this was your typical back and forth game as both teams kept coming back off the canvas to try to win that elusive first game….going into the top of the 7th inning, TEAM EPPSTEIN was down to their final out with runners on first and second when veteran DOUG SANDOR singled to right field that scored both runs, but TEAM LEFTON came back in the bottom of the final frame to load the bases, but couldn’t push the tying and/or winning run across the plate….TYLER WOLF, back from college, was awarded the game ball with a good night at the plate and a fine catch in the outfield, but according to captain STEVE “DOUGHNUT” EPPSTEIN, the real star was rookie EVAN PIERSON, who homered twice, one a grandslam, had seven RBI’s, scored the winning run with a diving slide and made all the plays at shortstop….he also was seen selling popcorn after the game…..WOW!!!!….the other games….GUTTMAN/SILVERMAN and CRONSTEIN/LOOOOOOON haven’t been reported as of yet and will be on the BLOG when the respective winning captains, BRANDON GUTTMAN and ADAM CRONSTEIN report in….comments/questions to r.rosenthal@fuse.net….
