Thursday August 27….6:41 p.m……JOEL ”SPARKY” FOGEL reports a heartbreaking loss for TEAM FOGEL to TEAM SCHWARTZ, 6-5, as they lost a one run lead in the bottom of the seventh inning…..kudos to BRIAN (NOT GRIFFEY) GOLDBERG who gave TEAM FOGEL the lead in the top of the seventh inning with a homerun….FOGEL reports his team will once again be missing players, but has signed one day contracts to MICHAEL ROTHSTEIN and COREY NORRIS, both from TEAM GREFER…….as part of the agreement, FOGEL must buy GARY GREFER a tilapia sandwich after Wednesday’s game at the usual hangout spot…….FYI….TEAM FRANKLIN (#8 seed) will be the home team vs. TEAM FOGEL (#9 seed) in the play-in game Sunday at 9:30 sharp on field #4……NO ESPN coverage……. throughout the year, your blog writer has received both positive and negative comments about the blog……. if you want them heard (read) on the blog, please send them to me at……… r.rosenthal@fuse.net ………again, GOOD LUCK TO ALL THE TEAMS IN THE TOURNAMENT………

Thursday August 27……….11.04 a.m……….the GUTTMAN BROTHERS…….JORDAN and BRANDON are now officially in the BLOG fan club along with President GREG LEADER……..speaking of JORDAN……check out that tatoo he has on his arm…….nice!!!!!!……..winners last night were TEAMS SCHWARTZ, EPPSTEIN, NEWMAN and LOOOOOOOOOOOON……..in reported action……..TEAM LOOOOOOON came from a 9-3 defecit by scoring 12 runs in the last two innings to defeat TEAM FRANKLIN, 15-11, ………combined with the TEAM WERNICK loss, a coin flip took place after the games to determine the #1 seed in which TEAM WERNICK won……tournament action starts SUNDAY at 9:30 a.m…….with the play-in game between TEAM FOGEL and TEAM FRANKLIN…….rumor has it that TEAM FRANKLIN is going to go shirtless the first time around in the batting order……..so if you want to see captain GIGGY FRANKLIN shirtless, come on out……..for the rest of the seedings and schedule check out the website, courtesy of Commissioner MICHAEL ROTHSTEIN………GOOD LUCK TO ALL TEAMS,,,,,,,,,r.rosenthal@fuse.net…………..

In order to save the pitching arms on Team Fogel, for the “Play-in” game, Team Franklin will forgo wearing the team shirt. This will result in only one pitch being thrown to each batter, during their first plate appreance.
This will reduce the wear and tear to shoulder, necks legs arm, quads, and balls and bats, oh yes it will save time too!
Come watch history be made!

What can only be said about the outcome of this game is the word “Upset”! Had it not been for a 2 out throwing error by the former Commissioner for Life” with no one on base, Team Franklin would have had their fifth win of the season. Team Loon then scored 5 runs before the third out in the inning. Going into the 7th inning Team Franklin still had the lead 8-7, Team Loon score 5 more runs in the top half of the inning. Team Franklin mounted a threat scoring a run, before the third out of the final inning ended and then end of regular season.
Speculation has it several players on Team Franklin and Team Loon have played their last regular season game ever!
