Game Re-Cap Week One

IN WEEK #1 ACTION…….

Team Brafman recap provided by TEAM BRAFMAN rookie captain MARC BRAFMAN……

PLEASE NOTE THIS IS THE LONGEST RECAP IN THE HISTORY OF THE BLOG………..READ IT AND

ENJOY!!!!!!……..

in a stirring come from behind win Team Brafman beat Team Hiudt 9-8 in 8 inning on Tyler “Big Unit” Wolf

two out bases loaded single to give rookie Capt. Marc Brafman his first win.

“I was just trying to make solid contact and hit the ball hard on the ground a happy Wolf said.” This was a

great way to start off the season. When a team walks a batter to get to me I take it as an insult and a

challenge to prove them wrong. Who walks Jose Peraza to get to Joey Votto?

The game started off well for Team Brafman as Steve “Aqua man” Epstein had a no-hitter through three

innings. “After watching my favorite movie- Rocky III I realized that like Apollo Creed training Rocky to

fight Clubber Lang I needed to hit the pool to help increase my speed and find muscles I never knew I

had- Eppy said after the game. So this off season I really got after it and swam a lot of laps. (as a side

note Brafman has a call into the Elias Sports Bureau to confirm that Aqua-Man Epstein is the oldest

pitcher in JCC Softball history to win a game) While I wasn’t perfect on the mound I think everyone can

tell that my fitness was top notch.”

Brafman’s team got the scoring started in the 2nd when they batted around and scored 7 runs. The big

blow of the inning was a bases clearing triple by reining league MVP Weston “The Wizard” Wolf. “I’m glad

that Weston is on our side a smiling Capt. Marc Brafman said post game. He is as five star player who

helped win the game with his bat, his arm, his legs and his glove. I expect nothing but great things from

The Wiz this season

. Not to be outdone coming off the DL Greg Harris was 2-4 with the game tying RBI single in the bottom

of the 7th. “It felt good to be back out there. Last year ended way too early for me and I’ve been

rehabbing my knee all offseason. My goal was to beat back Homer Bailey so while he might make $20

million dollars for doing nothing I at least had the game tying single in tonight’s game so that’s something

 right?”

While the bats were cooled off for both teams after the seven run outburst Brafman was very impressed

with the leather that was flashed by everyone on his team. “The best part about this game tonight was

that even though we didn’t hit as well as I think we all hoped we never let it get us down and we kept our

heads in the game on defense. Scott Wolf made a great diving catch in left to end the 3rd, David “BP”

Snyder was perfect at second, Norm Frankel made the plays at third the defensive play of the game was

Duff Wolf running bases loaded catch in the right center field gap to end the top of the 8th that preserved

the tie. “off the bat I knew I had to get on my horse Duff said post game. Lucky for me I run like an older

version of California Chrome and was able to track it down.”

Starting off the bottom of the 8th David BP Snyder led off with a clean single which was followed by Dave

Weil’s single to lf. After a ground out by Wolf advanced both runners to 2nd-3rd and a pop out, Team

Hiudt elected to walk Brafman to set up a force at every base. the plan backfired when The Big Unit Wolf

singled up the middle for the game winner.

I’m really proud of the guys tonight Brafman said post game this was a total team effort and when we get

Pat “Sunshine” Feldman back next week we are going to be tough to beat. Tonight proved that we will

battle till the last out and hopefully this is a spring board for the rest of the season.

IN ADDITION……TEAM HIUDT captain ZAC HIudt reported that TYLER STANSBURY hit a grand slam

along with two walks and everyone’s “favorite” player SCOTT “SHORTY” ADAMS had four hits including

two doubles…….RUMOR has it that after the game, several players wanted him drug tested…….

Thank You Everyone

Brad,
Could you please send the following message out to the league.

I want to thank everyone who was out at Triple Creek tonight for helping me look for my ring.  The good news is that I found it and I appreciate all the help many of you gave me in staying around to help look for it.  It’s that type of camaraderie that makes this league so great.
Thanks again
