Wednesday May 20………..11:39 p.m……..beautiful weather for a change greeted the softballers this evening……first final to report in of course is our game as TEAM WERNICK stayed unbeaten with a victory over TEAM LOON…….the whole team contributed with hits, but was led by “WEE” WILLIE WAXLER and ”rookie NICK RUEZSER……..JOHN BERG pitched another fine game…….kudos go out to veteran ss BILL KAHN who made a diving stop of a shot and to TEAM LOON who fought back to make a game of it after trailing by nine runs late in the game………. r.rosenthal@fuse.net………….

MOnday May 18………….4:17 p.m…….this just into the newsroom……..TEAM FOGEL a.k.a. SPARKY’S BOYS finally played a game and to boot defeated TEAM GREFER, 6-5, behind the pitching of JAN BECKER and solid defense……Congrats to “rookie” captain JOEL ‘SPARKY” FOGEL for his first victory in his first game……kudos also goes to “LOONEY” LOON on his first victory as a captain, however it took him two games……….BITS N PIECES……bad week to be a BOSTON sports fan……..Celtics and Bruins lose in Game 7’s, both in
Boston……..what happened to the Reds in S.D.?………good season to the Cyclones who were swept in the conference Finals……… r.rosenthal@fuse.net……….

Monday May 18………12:31 a.m………an update just came in over the wires from Sunday’s action……TEAM LOON got their first victory of the season (first ever for captain ANTON LOON) as they defeated TEAM KIRZNER, 13-3, in five innings…….LOONEY reports it was a team effort, however three rookies were a big key to the victory…….ANDY JENNINGS, JUSTIN MENDENKAMP and AARON COMPTON……kudos also goes to BARRY KAPLAN for pitching a gem of a game…...r.rosenthal@fuse.net…………..

Sunday May 17…………..3:16 p.m………..Games were played this morning…….YES……NO rainouts……NO scores to report yet (Captains do you read me)…….Since yours truely plays for TEAM WERNICK, I can report on their game…..TEAM WERNICK defeated TEAM FRANKLIN, 16-8, as STEVE OSTROW was a key factor in the field and made some defensive gems……on the hitting side…….GARY ASKIN, in his first year behind the plate, got a key two out bases loaded hit in the opening inning to set the tone…….it was a total team effort as everyone pitched in, including another key two out hit by WILLIE WAXLER and once again JOHN BERG pitched an excellent game allowing only one walk for the second straight game…….BITS/PIECES……………….THE BLOG has a new favorite player………”rookie” NICK RUEZSER of TEAM WERNICK…..it found out that he is a Cubs fan and his favorite player was RYNE SANDBERG………..game reports/comments should be reported to r.rosenthal@fuse.net …………ASAP………
