ROGER’S HOT CORNER…………

Thursday April 24……..12:27 a.m……….week 2 is in the books….again CAPTAINS are asked to please e-mail me with highlights (no lowlights please) on their team at r.rosenthal@fuse.net ………The top of the news has to be that Rogzilla “can’t find the plate” Rosenthal did NOT walk a batter and did NOT commit an error…….of course he didn’t pitch and there was only one ball hit to him………..in action on field 2 Team Schwartz defeated Team Harris 8-1……Howie pitched well and the defense was solid behind him, however there were a couple of questionable calls against Team Harris that might have helped…….(ask Joel “Sparky” Fogel) about one…..hopefully Commish Gig will not fine this fine blog writer for questioning the umpires decision on a few plays………Ron Rose, an avid reader of this blog, batted like the late great Frank Harkavy as he coaxed two walks in key situations off Doctor Bob by continuing to foul off pitches……….Happenings at BW’3s and The Rocket boldly predicted not only the first half championship, but the second half as well for Team Grefer……..it is NOT known at this time if Coach Grefer will fine him or take away his beer privilages…….rumor has it that Steve Ostrow is NOT showing up because he thinks he’s too good for everyone else……Other news and notes………rumor has it that the Commish and his lovely wife were caught on video making out during the game…..is that a fine or what??????…..finally, superstar Adam Cronstein, reported to be a BIG Xavier fan (good for him) will be out of action for a few weeks as he will have a hernia operation Thursday…..we wish him the best…..finally, Mike Rothstein, Boston sports nut, predicted the Celtics to win the East……how about the Pistons?………any comments, questions and rumors can be sent to r.rosenthal@fuse.net …..THE BLOG would like to know how many of you read this great creation….I’ve been told from some that they do…….if you do, please e-mail me before our next game and just drop me a line…..THE BLOG SAYS THANK YOU AND GOOD NIGHT………

ROGER’S HOT CORNER…………

Wednesday April 23…….11:11 a.m……..I want to put out a reward (of your choice) to anyone out there that can find home plate for me. I lost it last week (Team Newman can testify to that) and I would like to find it!!!!!! Also, if anyone out there can find a glove that doesn’t have any errors in it, please get it for me as I need one of those (Team Newman can testify to that one too!)…..Week 2 begins tonight with Team Kirzner playing their first game after a Week 1 bye……..rumor has it that veteran pitcher David Fox might be a little slow coming off the mound as he just got back from a cruise…..you know what that means? Buffets…..though Fox usually eats pretty sensibly a.k.a. salads…….Weather is expected to be there………duh!!!!!……warm and partly cloudy…….other news…….What idiots the Washington Wizards are for “badmouthing” King James before their playoff series………Cyclones vs. Reading Royals (No not Reading, Ohio) in the next round…look for the Cincinnati icemen to take care of business in no more than five games…….Will Chad be shipped out of town?…….hopefully and don’t let the door hit your big ass on the way out……….finally, thanks go out to BIG Todd for his encouraging words to me after a horrifice softball week……Happy Softballing!!!!!!!!! comments/questions/rumors can be sent to r.rosenthal@fuse.net

Team Glassman vs. Team Eppy

A solid all-around team effort lead to Team Glassman’s 11-8 victory over Team Eppstein. A tight affair for most of the evening until Team Glassman scored 4 in the 6th and 1 in the 7th to forge an 11 -5 lead only to see Eppstein make a valiant attempt at a comeback in the bottom of the 7th scoring 3 runs with 2 outs and then loading the bases putting the potential winning run at home plate. A wicked line drive up the middle snared by Gig ended the game. Brandon Guttman, Dan Glassman, and Gig Franklin lead the way in hitting each going 3 for 4 with rookie Ricky John John Evers a solid 2 for 3 in his debut

Team Gordy vs. Team Schwartz

After a sluggish start and Gordon down 6-3 in Schwartz’s team batting in the top of the third rookie Gary Katz’s steady game defense and rookie outfielderJason George’s momentum changing diving double play catch took the Gordon team into a 4th inning hitting barrage of 9 runs. They then held on defensively and scorred 4 more in the bottom of the 4th for a 16-6 victory. Game ball presented by the team to these two rookies.
