Sunday May 30….11:14 a.m…..TEAM GUTTMAN finally reported in with a summary of their 8-4 victory over TEAM CRONSTEIN…..”SUPER” STU WEINSTEIN got the game ball as he pitched a solid game keeping the hitters off balance with his slow, slower and slowest pitches….strong defense, in particular from ANDY IGNATOW and ZAC HIUDT and the strong catching of GARY “JUST” ASKIN helped in the win….”J-ROD” HUIDT led the hitting brigade with power with ASKIN collected two hits and SCOTT “SHORTY” ADAMS added two hits as well….captain BRANDON GUTTMAN proclaimed ASKIN as arguably the best defensive catcher in the history of the JCC softball league….the BLOG wants to know how much ASKIN paid him to say that or what was he smoking, drinking or a combination of both?…..as an added highlight, MOUNT ROGER “ROGZILLA” ROSENTHAL almost exploded thanks to a TEAM GUTTMAN steal attempt late in the game with them up 8-1….security was brought in to secure peace and things were forgotten after the game…..comments/questions…..r.rosenthal@fuse.net…….

Thursday May 27….4:51 p.m….in the games reported at this time, TEAM SCHWARTZ defeated TEAM SILVERMAN, 6-3, captain RYAN SILVERMAN said of his team’s effort, “We showed a little fight in the bottom of the 7th inning, but it wasn’t enough.”….in the other game reporting in….TEAM LOOOOOOON got their first victory of the season with a 12-2 ten run mercy rule victory over the still winless TEAM LEFTON, 12-2, DAVID FOX came out of retirement to pitch for the victors, while DR. BOB “GO FLYERS” PELBERG referring to him as “FOXY MOMMA” was relegated to the bullpen….the team had timely hits and played solid defense led by third baseman MACR SIMONS….LOOOOOOOON reports that “FOXY MOMMA is a sub for MARK NEWMAN for the remainder of the first half and then PELBERG goes back to the mound….TEAM GREFER defeated TEAM KIRZNER,9-5, as they were led by the pitching of MIKE GRAY and the hitting of MARC TESSEL and ANDY JENNINGS….GARY GREFER reports in that RYAN KIRZNER made two dazzling plays at first base….questions/comments…r.rosenthal@fuse.net

Wednesday May 26….3:59.m….is it me or does it seem that we haven’t played for a looong time?…all teams are in action tonight with the exception of TEAM EPPSTEIN (0-3)..captain STEVE EPPSTEIN is currently vacationing in Myrtle Beach and reports have it that he’s been working the phone lines trying to line-up a “blockbuster” trade to get his team on the right track…..even though it’s early in the season….TEAM KIRZNER (3-0) and TEAM SILVERMAN (2-0) put their undefeated records on the lines vs. TEAM GREFER and TEAM SCHWARTZ respectively….in the other games,TEAM CRONSTEIN (1-2) will battle TEAM GUTTMAN (2-1) and in a “battle” of two winless teams, TEAM LOON takes on TEAM LEFTON….stay tuned for game stories as they’ll hopefully be reported in by the captains….questions/comments….r.rosenthal@fuse.net
