ROGER’S HOT CORNER!!!!!!!

In a battle for first place, TEAM GUTTMAN, now 5-1, behind the pitching of JASON “BIG HAUS” FAUST, and some stellar defense including a nice catch in the outfield by captain BRANDON “BG” GUTTMAN, defeated TEAM WEISBROT, now 3-2, 10-5……..hitting stars for the victors were………RON “THE ROCKET” NASSIF, 3 for 4 with two runs and two RBI’s, BRIAN “THE VERSATILE” GOLDBERG, 2 for 4 with two runs, BRANDON “BE LB” LEBEAU, 2 for 4 with a 2B, 3B, one run and two RBI’s…… the defensive play of the game was turned in by JOSH FRANKEL, when he gunned down “THE ROCKET” at the plate on a perfect strike to DAVID WEIL…… the BIG key to the game in the eyes of this blogger, was when TEAM WEISBROT was mounting a comeback and couldn’t score any more runs with NO outs and the bases loaded……TEAM GUTTMAN seems to be in the driver’s seat, but remember this is the JCC softball league……..STAY TUNED!!!!!!

ROGER’S HOT CORNER

TEAM WEISBROT, 3-1, continued their winning ways with their third consecutive victory setting up next week’s clash vs. TEAM GUTTMAN, 4-1, by beating TEAM ROTHSTEIN, 6-4, in a well pitched and defensive game……STEVE “DONUT MAN” EPPSTEIN and COREY NORRIS combined to pitch well for the losing squad, while winning pitcher MIKE GRAY pitched perhaps one of his better games ever and played his position well…..hitting stars for the winners were captain JEFF WEISBROT and DANNY “BOBCAT” SCHAAFF…….defensively, NORMAN FRANKEL, playing 2B, was solid……Afterwards, MICHAEL ROTHSTEIN, 3 for 3 at the plate, commented, “We just couldn’t string enough hits together to get a big inning going. While everyone played good defense, kudos to MIKE GRAY and NORM FRANKEL who were outstanding.”……Game time next week for the WEISBROT/GUTTMAN clash is 6:16 p.m. with ESPN coverage beginning with a special at 5:30 p.m……..JEFF NASH of TEAM GUTTMAN and ROGER “ROGZILLA” ROSENTHAL were spotted at a local establishment last night already talking trash to one another…….STAY TUNED!!!!!!
