Game Results: June 30, 2014

TEAM WAGNER completed the season “sweep” of TEAM GUTTMAN Sunday morning by defeating them 9-3 after winning Wednesday night, 13-7…..JASON FAUST was his “normal” self on the mound and BRIAN MONK, MIKE ROTHSTEIN, BRAD WAGNER, COREY NORRIS, SAM HELDMAN and FAUST all contributed on the offensive end while PETE SOLTESZ was outstanding in LCF……TEAM WAGNER battles TEAM SCHWARTZ this Wednesday, but without FAUST as his contract allows him to take at least one week off to go fishing with his fishing buds……reports out of the TEAM WAGNER camp is that captain WAGNER will start on the hill with  NORRIS ready if needed and TED KANTOR if needed after that………OH MY!!!!!!!!

TEAM ROSENTHAL notched a hard fought 9-8 victory over TEAM WEISSER in a game that saw the victors blow a four-run lead in the top of the 7th inning only to win it in the bottom of the 8th inning on a walk-off hit by JOEL KAHN……it was a total team effort as NICK REUSZER led the way with four hits including a home run and some excellent defense,,,,,,STEVE EPPSTEIN pitched his third gem in a row, while AARON COMPTON and DAN GLASSMAN made key defensive plays throughout the game……KUDOS go out to subs ZACH SWADNER, 4 for 5 with a home run, BOB BONNER, 3 for 4 and some key defensive plays and DAVID SNYDER, who played a steady RF in a three man outfield…..

TEAM LEFTON defeated TEAM WEISBROT, 21-6, as BEN “WEEZE” LEFTON received the game ball with a complete game and 3 for 3 with four RBI for the game…..of note…..Everybody with the last name LEFTON or WOLF had at least one hit……

TEAM CRONSTEIN continued their winning ways with a 10-4 victory over TEAM LEADER…..that’s five wins in the last six games……KEN GROH continued his fine pitching and strong defense and timely hitting were the keys to the win……captain ADAM CRONSTEIN went 3 for 4 with two runs scored and a home run…..MICHAEL ASKIN was 3 for 4 with three runs scored, the ageless wonder JOHNNY BERG was 3 for 4 and MARK BLOOM was 3 for 3…..the game wasn’t decided until the sixth inning when the victors scored once and then plated five runs in the seventh inning to put the game away……..

THE SECOND HALF STARTS THIS SUNDAY MORNING WITH REMATCHES FROM WEDNESDAY’S GAMES……GAMES START AT 9:30 A.M……..
