Game Results: June 16, 2014

AS YOU KNOW, GAMES AND FAMILY NIGHT WERE CANCELLED LAST WEDNESDAY NIGHT AND ALL CAPTAINS WERE NOTIFIED ABOUT THE REMAINDER OF THE FIRST HALF SCHEDULE AS WELL AS A REPLACEMENT DATE FOR FAMILY NIGHT……IF NOT SURE, PLEASE CONTACT YOUR CAPTAIN…….

TIDBITS……..Just got off the phone with ex-JCC softballer BEREL COHEN, who’s now living out in the Los Angeles area with his family of eight, and he’s doing fine……asked if he has resumed playing in a softball league on the West coast, he said he has not…….he’s scheduled to be lunching with MARK GORDON tomorrow at a place to be determined……

Game Results: June 10, 2014

TEAM GUTTMAN continued their winning ways with a 12-5 victory over TEAM SCHWARTZ as MIKE “PAINT THE BLACK” GRAY continued his mastery on the mound and his hitting at the plate……his three run triple broke the game open…….other plaudits go to the ageless wonder DOUG THE PROFESSIONAL” SANDOR with his continued hot hitting and ZAC “HYPHE” HIUDT who went 3 for 4 and had a defensive web gem with a diving catch in the outfield that according to captain BRANDON GUTTMAN rendered the crowd speechless……..come on now!……

You’ve heard the saying Where’s Waldo?

Well, Sunday morning it was Where’s the captain?
TEAM LEADER defeated TEAM WEISSER, 6-5, as they scored the winning run in the bottom of the  7th inning on a walk-off single off the bat of sub JUSTIN BERG……captain GREG LEADER was absent and is still being looked for at press time……ANTON LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON was on the hill as both regular starting pitcher BARRY KAPLAN and back-up JOSH LISMAN were also absent, and pitched well after a five run first inning to notch what is believed his first victory ever in JCC league play…….SCOTT BERGE made a big play to gun down MARK WEISSER at the plate in a key play.

Game Results: June 8, 2014

THE FIRST FAMILY NIGHT IS SCHEDULED THIS WEDNESDAY NIGHT……..ALSO, THE ROOKIES WILL BE RECOGNIZED……

ON THE FIELD…….

TEAM ROSENTHAL won their first game of the season with a 16-14 victory over TEAM WEISBROT……the victors had a nice lead all, but disappear, only to rally for five runs in the bottom of the 6th inning and held on for the victory…… it was a total TEAM effort as everyone contributed, but kudos go to JOEL KAHN and PETE SPOERL for their superlative hitting and DAN GLASSMAN’S throwing out a runner to end the game……AARON COMPTON, NICK REUSZER, STEVE EPPSTEIN and yes, ROGER ROSENTHAL, all came up with big hits and defensive plays…….they’ll try to extend their modest win streak Wednesday night vs. TEAM WEISSER……

IN THE BETTER LATE THAN NEVER DEPT……..BRANDON GUTTMAN reported in on his team’s 13-0 victory over previously undefeated TEAM WEISSER…….MIKE “PAINT THE BLACK” GRAY pitched and hit his way to victory as he clouted a grand slam and gave up just three base knocks…..DOUG “THE PROFESSIONAL” SANDOR went 3 for 3 and GUTTMAN added his third long ball of the year……
