Game Results: July 17, 2014

*TEAM ROSENTHAL was down, but not out, as they came back from a 12-5 deficit late in their game against TEAM WEISBROT to plate six runs in the top of the 6th inning and three runs in the top of the 7th inning to win 14-12……it was a total team effort as STEVE EPPSTEIN gave up eight runs in the first two innings only to give up four more runs the rest of the way…..hitting stars included LEV ORLOV, 3 for 4 and JOHN SILVERMAN, 3 for 4……game balls were not distributed, but afterwards captain ROGER ROSENTHAL said that both ORLOV and SILVERMAN would had shared the honors……..

ON A POSITIVE NOTE FOR TEAM WEISBROT…..ALL-STAR TAYLOR SCHWARTZ is reportedly coming back from injury next week in time to get ready for the post season playoffs…..

**TEAM LEFTON, a.k.a. TEAM FAMILY continued their winning ways with a 17-7 victory over the short-handed TEAM WAGNER…..JASON FAUST and MICHAEL ROTHSTEIN were both missing and that was too much to overcome…….the victors fell behind 3-0 in the top of the first inning, but by the second inning the rout was on as the victors plated two runs in the first inning and nine more runs in the second inning……..WES WOLF provided the BIG blow with a grand slam……super sub STU SOLOMON once again subbed for the ailing “WEEZE” LEFTON and did an admirable job at 3B…….game ball went to WES WOLF…….

This sets up a huge game next week between the 5-0 TEAM LEFTON and the 4-1 TEAM ROSENTHAL…….GAME WILL BE AIRED ON ESPN HD WITH ANNOUNCERS STILL TO BE NAMED……As an added bonus…….a RICK LEFTON bobble head will be given out to the first 500 so be sure you’re there early to get this must needed collectors item……GATES OPEN AT 5:00 p.m.

TEAM LEADER defeated TEAM WEISSER in an extra inning affair, 17-13…….the winners plated four runs in the top of the 9th inning to notch the win…..there were some brilliant defensive plays on both sides in spite of the blinding sun…..MATT STEINBERG of TEAM LEADER, played at 3B for the first time this season and had some nice plays as did JEREMY FOGEL of TEAM WEISSER in the outfield……leading the way offensively for the victors were home runs by STEINBERG, JOSH LISMAN and ANTON LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON…………
