The play-in game is in the books……..after a somewhat lengthy delay to get Field # 4 ready, officials decided to move the contest to Field #2…….the end result was #8 TEAM ROSENTHAL defeating TEAM WEISBROT, 7-5…….STEVE EPPSTEIN, the ageless wonder, pitched well again as he kept the hitters off stride for the most part, while the defense shinned again….the offense was just good enough to get enough runs in the game…….also of note….catcher DAN GLASSMAN caught four pop-ups in the game…..believed to be a JCC record…….
Their reward now is to play #1 TEAM CRONSTEIN, a team that has ten-runned them twice this season……..
Special thanks go out to Commissioner GARY GREFER and staff member/player MIKE CREEMER to get the field ready for play………

Two members of TEAM CRONSTEIN (NOT ADAM) reported in with their version of their 7-5 victory over TEAM GUTTMAN…..the following is a combination of both reports…….
First, it should be noted they’re the #1 seed for the upcoming tournament with an overall record of 11-5, but didn’t win either half……
In last night’s thriller, RABBI YITZI hit a home run and played solid defense, ADAM CRONSTEIN made a nice diving catch, MICHAEL ASKIN made a nice over the shoulder catch of a BRANDON GUTTMAN drive, JEFF “LITTLE FINK” FINKELSTEIN made some dazzling plays at SS reminding Cincinnati Reds fans of BARRY LARKIN……and finally, KEN GROH held the opposition scoreless the final five innings…..the MVP candidate was 11-2 for the season (take that JASON FAUST) and ended up hitting .700 (35 for 50) over the campaign……..

The play-in game between # 9 seed TEAM WEISBROT and # 8 seed TEAM ROSENTHAL is scheduled for this Sunday at 9:30 a.m……….

The tournament starts Wednesday night with the following match-ups…….

*#1 TEAM CRONSTEIN vs WINNER OF PLAY-IN GAME (WEISBROT VS. ROSENTHAL)
*#2 TEAM LEFTON vs TEAM SCHWARTZ
*#3 TEAM GUTTMAN vs, #6 TEAM WAGNER
*#4 TEAM LEADER vs. # 5 TEAM WEISSER
