TEAM ROSE and TEAM LEADER are heading in the direction for a BIG showdown the last game of the first half…..

Both teams were victorious this week as TEAM LEADER defeated TEAM GUTTMAN, 11-10, as the victors defense, in particular the left side of the infield with TAYLOR SCHWARTZ at 3B and ZACH MAYER at SS, which included multiple double plays…..key offensive contributions came from the big power hitters including a triple off the bat of MAYER….another key base knock was delivered by super sub ALEX LEFTON, who delivered a “respect me now” hit that scored two critical runs, this after BRIAN MONK was intentionally walked….Special shout out to both JOEL KAHN and JOSH LISMAN, both out with injuries, but were on hand to lend their support…..

TEAM ROSE barely escaped with a 8-7 victory over pesky TEAM WEISSER……the game was tied at 4-4 going to the bottom of the 6th inning when the victors erupted for four runs and withstood a 7th inning rally to hold onto to the win…..MARC SIMONS, started at 3B for the missing RANDY BROYLES and not only played a steady field, but went 4 for 4 at the plate…..ZAC SWADNER had a key assist on a putout at the plate and KEN GROH pitched a gutty game…..

In action last night…..

One streak continued and one streak was broken for TEAM ROSE……they won their fifth game in five tries, however their streak of four straight ten-run games was broken…..
It was an overall team effort by TEAM ROSE with KEN GROH, an early season candidate for the MVP award, leading the way with a masterful pitching performance to tame a pretty good hitting TEAM FOGEL, 13-7,….the hitting wasn’t there as in past games, thanks to a well pitched game by wily veteran STEVE “I LOST 30 POUNDS” EPPSTEIN, but the defense was once again pretty rock solid………
