JCC Softball Cincinnati

TEAM ROSENTHAL finally turned the tables last night as they were on the winning end of a walk-off victory…….after two walk-off losses this season, they defeated TEAM GREFER, 9-8,  in a thriller…..

TEAM GREFER, behind the fine pitching of JAMIE KURTZER, built a 7-2 lead after 4 1/2 innings only to see the victors scrap back into the game by scoring four runs in the next two innings to make the score, 7-6, going into the final frame……after a Brandon LeBeau homerun extended the lead to 8-6, TEAM ROSENTHAL came back with a three spot in the bottom of the inning off relief ace KEN GROH, in large part by a “huge” base knock off the bat of DEE HARRIS that scored the tying run and then JOEL “SPARKY” FOGEL, fresh off a West Coast vacation, winning the game on a groundout to the right side that scored “courtesy” runner PETE SPOERL, running for the injured ROGER ROSENTHAL……

NEXT WEEK……WEATHER PERMITTING, THE SECOND HALF WILL BE COMPLETED WITH A MAKE-UP DATE,  FOLLOWED BY THE PLAY-IN GAME (TEAM ROTHSTEIN VS. TEAM LEADER)……AND THEN THE FIRST ROUND OF THE PLAYOFFS………STAY TUNED!!!!!

Where have the game reports gone?…….you know who you are…….winning captains…..losing captains……NO reports………NO Blog……..oh well…….at least those that read The Blog know how TEAM ROSENTHAL is doing…….

TEAM WEISBROT defeated TEAM ROSENTHAL, 9-8, in a game that saw the victors score two runs in the bottom of the 7th inning after blowing a two run lead in the top of the inning…..STU WEINSTEIN provided the big hit with a two run single to drive in the tying and winning runs…..

In the only game to report at this time, TEAM ROSENTHAL kept winning as they defeated TEAM WAGNER, 7-0, behind the solid pitching of JASON “MVP” FAUST, and a flawless defense…..the key all season has been solid defense behind the 2nd-year pitcher……
