Wednesday May 12……10:43 a.m…..it looks like rain will wash out games for this evening, but there is always playoff hockey!!!!….the CYCLONES are at home vs. the READING ROYALS for the deciding Game 7 at U.S. Bank Arena at 7:30 p.m……CLONES were down 3-0 in the series and have come back to knot the series….nothing better in sports than a game 7 in hockey….a few softballers might be in attendance including MARK WOLF, LAWRENCE KURTZMAN, DAN CRONSTEIN, HAL FINE, GARY ASKIN, GREG LEADER and yours truely….all have been spotted at games this season…..stay dry and GO CLONES!!!!!!…comments/questions….r.rosenthal@fuse.net….

Monday May 10…..10:07 p.m….better late than NOT at all, I guess….BRANDON GUTTMAN reports his team’s 16-4 drubbing of TEAM EPPSTEIN…. the captain says that the whole team played well (what is he supposed to say?), but top performers were….ABE “LILITY” DAHAN going 3 for 3 with two runs scored and a stolen base….KEN “FEAR THE” FEHR had a triple and GUTTMAN’S prediction is that balls will begin to go MIA when this rookie steps to the plate….GARY “JUST ASKIN” went 2 for 3 with two runs scored and a stolen base….”SUPER” STU WEINSTEIN pitched a fine game allowing four runs in the first two innings and then shutting the opposition down after that……SCOTT “SHORTY” ADAMS coninues to find ways to get on base….maybe he’s paying someone off….BRAD WAGNER’S debut as head coach of the JCC BlueJays, a team of ten-year olds,didn’t get off to a great start though it looked good until the last inning….taking over the reins of the absent MARK “GORDY” GORDON, the BlueJays blew a three run lead in the bottom of the last inning….oh well!…….Get Well Wishes to DAN CRONSTEIN, still MIA, with a bad back….comments/questions…..r.rosenthal@fuse.net….

Saturday May 8…..12:59 p.m……REAL STAR SIGHTINGS…..check out the most recent issue (May 22) of Soap Opera Digest to find a member of the JCC softball league….go to page 66 and enjoy….it was a great time for a very worthy cause!!!!……MATT GOLDSCHMIDTT, MAX POTVIN, father CLAUDE POTVIN and ROGER “ROGZILLA” ROSENTHAL attended the Wyoming at Reading fast pitch softball game Friday to watch Wyoming, but specifically GABBY POTVIN, brother.daughter to MAX and CLAUDE….other notes…..BILLY KAHN has signed onto to coach the JCC Blue Jays 10-year old baseball team, joining MARK “GORDY” GORDON, BRAD WAGNER and ROGER “ROGZILLA” ROSENTHAL…..NO details were given on the contract, but it’s believed that chicken wings were

Thursday May 6….10:27 p.m….other game action saw TEAM GREFER taking it to TEAM SCHWARTZ, 13-4, as good team defense and timely hitting from MIKE GRAY, DAN GREFER and MIKE SMALL led the way….TEAM KIRZNER defeated TEAM LOON, 20-6, in a five inning ten-run mercy game….NO game ball was rewarded as it was a team win….DAN GLASSMAN, BILLY GRAY, BRAD WAGNER AND MIKE ROTHSTEIN rached base 13 of 16 times and made only one out after the first inning (who was that one out?)….ANTON LOON homered in the first inning to help his team to a 3-0 lead, but that lead went bye bye soon thereafter as pitcher MARK WEISSER shut the door and the offense plated nine runs in the second inning thanks in a large part to WEISSER’S three run double…..JERRY KIRZNER reached base three times, while JOEL TSEVAT and DAVID COHEN had multiple hit games……WEB GEM PLAY OF THE GAME went to GREG LEADER of TEAM LOON as the University of Richmond graduate made a diving catch off the bat of WEISSER….STAR SIGHTINGS….”ROGZILLA” ROSENTHAL and BARRY KAPLAN and their lovely wives attended an ALZHEIMERS BENIFIT and fun was had by all…..comments/questions to r.rosenthal……

Thursday May 6……..11:43 a.m….two games reported from last night…..TEAM SILVERMAN defeated TEAM CRONSTEIN, 8-5, to remain undefeated….JOHNNY BERG, with his parents in the stands again, JOSH LISMAN and ERWIN NEUMAN received game balls in another team effort…BERG was 3 for 4; LISMAN was 3 for 4 including a triple and NEUMAN went 4 for 4 including a home run….in the other reported game….TEAM LOON got dumped by TEAM KIRZNER, 20-6, as team captain ANTON LOON reports major defensive struggles and was up all night scouring the waiver wire for a little defensive help….LOON is remaining calm and still expects to defend his 2009 second half championship despite some key free agent departures…..that’s what you get for NOT paying the BIG bucks to keep a team intact….it should be noted that this was a rough last few days for ANTON….his family was harrassed by a “bum” on the street while driving his family somewhere and son JACK lost his baseball game earlier in the week….hope next week is better for you bud…..finally, the BLOG thought it was strange that BRAD WAGNER’S girlfriend, BROOKE SNYDER, was NOT watching his game, but another one….trouble in paradise?…..comments/questions to r.rosenthal@fuse.net…..
