ROGER’S HOT CORNER…………

Thursday June 25………..10:23 p.m……….in a wild one on Field 4, TEAM KIRZNER outlasted TEAM FRANKLIN, 19-18, in a game that lasted until around 9:00, well after all the other games had finished, rookie RICH FALCONE led a balanced offensive attack for the victors with three hits, including the game-winner in the bottom of the seventh inning, with four RBI’s including a homerun………it should be noted that TEAM FRANKLIN only had nine players……..in other tidbits…….JOEL ”SPARKY” FOGEL sent me a prediction stating that his team “after a rough start will turn this thing around and it will start this Sunday.”……..FOGEL added that DAN GLASSMAN will return to action after being out several weeks due to an injury……..we’ll see what kind of prophet SPARKY is………….now you can add him to the prophet list with ANTON LOOOOOOOON………r.rosenthal@fuse.net……

ROGER’S HOT CORNER…………

Wednesday June 24…….11:53 p.m……..CONGRATULATIONS goes out to TEAM WERNICK for capturing the first half title……they are 7-0 and even with a loss on Sunday and a TEAM SCHWARTZ victory, TEAM WERNICK would win the title thanks to their victory over TEAM SCHWARTZ last week…….Great defense has been the main key all season for TEAM WERNICK and they showed it again in ten running TEAM FOGEL, 14-4…..outstanding defensive gems came from DAVE WERNICK (best catch I’ve ever seen) and MIKE SMALL……JOHN BERG picthed anaother stellar game and GARY ASKIN continued to shine behind the plate…….it was a total team effort on defense and offense……..a nice turnout for Family Night including Commissioner MIKE ROTHSTEIN’S parents checking up on how he’s doing as a Commissioner in his first year…….No other games to report at this time…….to report games or to make comments on the BLOG (are you listening TEAM LOOOOOON), contact me at r.rosenthal@fuse.net………

ROGER’S HOT CORNER…………

Wednesday June 17………11:54 p.m……..in the GAME OF WEEK……the two undefeated teams went at it and when the dust cleared TEAM WERNICK, behind stellar pitching, near perfect defense and timely hitting, defeated TEAM SCHWARTZ in a 1o run rule…….stars were aplenty for the victors, but pitcher JOHN BERG and catcher GARY ASKIN combined on a gem and JB outpitched his good buddy HOWIE SCHWARTZ……..JOHN SILVERMAN set the tone in the top of the first inning with an A+ web gem with a diving catch down the left field line……WILLIE WAXLER came up big with a few huge hits and the game ended on a A- web gem by DAVE WERNICK on another diving catch in right-centerfield…..all wasn’t great for TEAM WERNICK as ROGER ROSENTHAL made a STUPID base running blunder late, but fortunately for him and his team, the game was well in hand……kudos must also go out to STEVE OSTROW, who delivered a pre-game motivational speech (aired live on ESPN2)……….late kudos go out to MARC TESSEL, who two weeks ago hit a long homerun vs. TEAM WERNICK……..other games NOT reported at press time…………any comments, etc. can be sent to me at r.rosenthal@fuse.net……..
