Wednesday May 20………..11:39 p.m……..beautiful weather for a change greeted the softballers this evening……first final to report in of course is our game as TEAM WERNICK stayed unbeaten with a victory over TEAM LOON…….the whole team contributed with hits, but was led by “WEE” WILLIE WAXLER and ”rookie NICK RUEZSER……..JOHN BERG pitched another fine game…….kudos go out to veteran ss BILL KAHN who made a diving stop of a shot and to TEAM LOON who fought back to make a game of it after trailing by nine runs late in the game………. r.rosenthal@fuse.net………….

Thursday May 21………..11:19 a.m……….two more games to report on……..TEAM SCHWARTZ defeated TEAM GREFER, 14-5, to stay unbeaten as BOB BONNER and STU WEINSTEIN led the offensive attack………in other action…..TEAM FRANKLIN recorded their first victory of the young season defeating TEAM FOGEL by coming back from a nine-run defecit and winning it in the bottom of the 7th inning…….captain JOEL ‘SPARKY’ FOGEL, pointing out that he’s NOT a “rookie” captain, was absent and gave the captain reigns to DAVID “DEE” HARRIS, captain of the PINK SHIRT squad of a year ago……….FOGEL was “hot” after learning of his team’s fate and commented exclusively for THE BLOG…..”It is now evident how Dee earned that PINK SHIRT last season.”……….FOGEL added, “We have a young talented team that needs to learn how to play with a lead, but I give TEAM FRANKLIN credit for playing hard until the end.”………..r.rosenthal@fuse.net………..
