Team Gordy vs. Team Schwartz
After a sluggish start and Gordon down 6-3 in Schwartz’s team batting in the top of the third rookie Gary Katz’s steady game defense and rookie outfielderJason George’s momentum changing diving double play catch took the Gordon team into a 4th inning hitting barrage of 9 runs. They then held on defensively and scorred 4 more in the bottom of the 4th for a 16-6 victory. Game ball presented by the team to these two rookies.
Team Glassman vs. Team Eppy
A solid all-around team effort lead to Team Glassman’s 11-8 victory over Team Eppstein. A tight affair for most of the evening until Team Glassman scored 4 in the 6th and 1 in the 7th to forge an 11 -5 lead only to see Eppstein make a valiant attempt at a comeback in the bottom of the 7th scoring 3 runs with 2 outs and then loading the bases putting the potential winning run at home plate. A wicked line drive up the middle snared by Gig ended the game. Brandon Guttman, Dan Glassman, and Gig Franklin lead the way in hitting each going 3 for 4 with rookie Ricky John John Evers a solid 2 for 3 in his debut
Alzheimer’s Broadway Bound Benefit
ROGER’S HOT CORNER…………..
Catch it while you can………Roger Rosenthal being serious for a change………I know most of you know me as a hotheaded &**&(*&&%$%^$$%#^** at times, but I do have a different side of me at times and this is one of those times……….
Your’s truely and my wife, Carol, are involved with the Alzheimer’s Association as volunteers. Both of our mothers were affected by this horrible disease and have donated and volunteered our time to the Association.
This is where my fellow softballers come in……On Saturday May 3 starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Westin Hotel downtown, there will be a Broadway Bound Benefit which includes entertainment, dinner, silent auction and a live auction. The cost per person is $175.00 per person.
Now I know in this hard economic times that may be a lot of money for some, however I am asking for whatever you can donate if not for a ticket to the Benefit.
If interested in the Benefit, please either give me a check in person or mail to the Alzheimer’s Association 644 Linn St. Suite 1026 Cincinnati, Ohio 45203 and put a note in that you want to go to the Benefit. Also, if you want to sit at our table plese note.
You can also go online to their website to sign up.
If interested in just a donation of any kind, please give to me when you see me at softball or mail to the already mentioned address.
Thank you in advance for those who donate to this cause.
Now let’s play some ball!!!!!!!!
