TEAM WEISSER GOES 8-0 IN FIRST HALF!!!!!!…….

TEAM WEISSER finished off a perfect 8-0 first half by defeating TEAM LEADER, 12-5,…..after giving up three runs in the opening frame, MARK WEISSER, back after a week off, found a groove and TYLER WOLF, early season candidate for “RELIEF” PITCHER OF THE YEAR, finished it off with three strong innings……other highlights included BRAD WAGNER getting two key base knocks and driving in five runs and SCOTT WOLF hit a home run and made a nice diving catch in the outfield…..SAM HELDMAN continued his stellar play in left field…..DUFF WOLF, who threw out another attempted base stealer and MARK LEVINE did a yeoman’s behind the plate…..TYLER WOLF also played a solid outfield when not pitching……ROGER ROSENTHAL played a solid 2B…..WES WOLF and FREDDIE WOLF played well on defense and had some nice hits…..RYAN SMALL, didn’t know the counts half the time, but played solid again at 1B and TED KANTOR added his expertise on the bench when not playing…….

This is NOT a typo!……TEAM FOGEL WON!!!!!!

TEAM FOGEL scored three times in the bottom of the 8th inning and notched their first victory of the season with a 8-7 win over TEAM CRONSTEIN…..JIMMY LEFTON was promoted from the TEAM LEFTON AA club and pitched a great game while the team played a stellar defense….the victors came back thrice from 3-1, 5-3 and 7-5 deficits (the last in the top of the 8th inning)…..JEREMY FOGEL received the game ball by going 2 for 4 with two runs scored and fantastic outfield play by making a running catch on the warning track and throwing out a would be run at the plate……other highlights….KEN GROH, normally the pitcher, DEE HARRIS and LEFTON all had multiple hits….

The key to the victory???????……KEN GROH wasn’t pitching????????

TEAM WEISSER WINS THE FIRST HALF!!!!!!!!!

With the weather causing problems, three of the four games had to be suspended due to the rain…..GREFER/LEADER…..SCHWARTZ/CRONSTEIN…..WEISBROT/LEFTON…..….they should be completed in the second half prior to their regularly scheduled game…..STAY TUNED!!!!!

As for the one completed game, TEAM WEISSER defeated TEAM HIUDT, 4-1, in 5 1/2 innings to make it an official game…..with the win, the victors clinched the first half championship with a 7-0 record…..captain/pitcher MARK WEISSER missed the game, but TYLER WOLF didn’t miss a beat by throwing a gem of a game and was backed by solid defense across the board highlighted by a few nice catches in LF by SAM HELDMAN and a couple of nice plays at 1B by RYAN SMALL………

The first half finishes up this coming Sunday morning, weather permitting and the second half begins June 8 with the schedule to be announced soon…..

Also of note, the first FAMILY NIGHT is scheduled for June 8 and players are encouraged to bring friends and/or family members to the game…..extra concession tickets will be given out by captains prior to the game….
