WINNERS/LOSERS FROM THIS EVENING…….GREFER/HIUDT……
LEFTON/FOGEL…..SCHWARTZ/LEADER……WEISSER/WEISBROT…..

In one of the more exciting games of the season, TEAM WEISSER remained undefeated with an unbelievable 14-12 eight inning victory over TEAM WEISBROT…..it was the second straight heart-breaking loss for TEAM WEISBROT…..

Trailing the whole game and down by two runs entering the top of the 7th inning, the victors tied it with two runs and then did a Houdini act by escaping what seemed like a sure loss situation in the bottom of the 7th inning when 3B BRAD WAGNER snared a sharp grounder off the bat of JEFF WEISBROT with runners on first and second and one out and turned it into an inning ending double play……one of three double plays started by WAGNER, who had a stellar performance……

In the top of the 8th inning, a huge two out two run hit by TYLER WOLF scored what proved to be the winning runs…….

Also, contributing to the win was pitcher and captain MARK WEISSER, who settled down after a rough first inning to tame the opposing bats…..DUFF WOLF, who caught another gem of a game and came up with some key hits again…..SAM HELDMAN, who made a game saving catch late in the game…..RYAN SMALL had four hits and played a stellar 1B……ROGER ROSENTHAL connected  on a key two run double over a pulled in outfield……WES WOLF was solid at SS and hit a HR….TED KANTOR collected a hit for the second straight week….SCOTT WOLF…..collected a key hit in the winning inning…..

On a sour note, ROSENTHAL, re injured a knee and will be looked at the team doctor in the next day or so……

In what was by far the most exciting game of the evening, two powerhouse teams went at it and when the dust cleared, TEAM LEADER defeated TEAM WEISBROT, 15-14, in walk off style in eight innings….
The win was set up in the bottom of the eighth inning, trailing 14-13, with runners on 2nd and 3rd when JEFF WEISBROT decided to walk sub YITZ CREEGER to load the bases and set up a put up or shut up moment for long time veteran DOUG SANDOR…..he came through in a BIG way as he crushed a line drive up the middle off another veteran of many years, STEVE EPPSTEIN, to score the tying and winning runs that set off a celebration for the victors……
Even though a lot of runs were scored, it should be noted, second-year player, RANDY BROYLES, pitching his first season, had multiple strikeouts and EPPSTEIN had NO walks……

AGAIN A REMINDER……WE HAVE GAMES THIS SUNDAY STARTING AT 9:30 A.M.

First to report in……again!

TEAM WEISSER continued their winning ways by improving their record to 4-0 with a 14-8 victory over TEAM GREFER…..the game was somewhat close until the final frame when the victors exploded for seven runs to put the game away despite an attempted comeback by TEAM GREFER……
It was a total team effort in the win, but standout performances were turned in by captain and pitcher MARK WEISSER, who pitched a solid game and came through with some key two out hits….”DUFF” WOLF was stellar behind the plate and had some key hits along the way including a three run single……BRAD WAGNER, WES WOLF (home run), FREDDIE WOLF, SAM HELDMAN and SCOTT WOLF all had solid games in the field and at the plate….rounding out the team effort was RYAN SMALL, back after a two game absence, and ROGER ROSENTHAL all contributed by collecting some hits and playing a good defense and finally TEDDY KANTOR legged out his first hit of the season by hitting a ball to left field and beating the throw by a half a step……but that’s TEDDY being TEDDY………
