Team Glassman battle to keep the lead all day. The result was a close 16-14 win over Team Gordon. Rick Evers and Issac Glassman were crowned as co-MVPs of the game. Jamie Kurtzer, pitch a outstanding game and went 4-4. Team Glassman climbs to 4-2, while team Gordy is now 1-5 for the 2nd half.

THIS WEEKS GAMES START AT 6:15PM

Team Newman played a nearly perfect game to knock off Team Grefer 8-7. Grefer jumped out to an early 4-0 lead, but Newman kept its focus and put up 6 runs in the 4th to take the lead for good. McCarthy had a 2 run HR and Greg Leader smashed a 3 run triple in the big inning. Newman then relied on its pitching and defense. Jimmy pitched a masterpiece keeping Grefer’s powerful lineup off balance all night. The defense came up with big play after big play lead by a perfect relay play to nail a runner at the plate.

Thursday August 14………..2:51 p.m………….Team Eppstein vs. Team Harris for Pink Shirt Honors Update……..Team Eppstein took a huge step towards NOT “winning” it by defeating Team Gordon 11-4 behind the stellar pitching debut of COREY NORRIS (another Red Sox fan)…….veteran stud DAVE WERNICK finally played up to his multi-million dollar contract with a multi-hit game and some outstanding plays in the field and BEN HELDMAN, son to ANDY HELDMAN, and definitely the better of the two, came up with some nice defensive palys plus a bases clearing triple in a pivital eight run sixth inning……..Game balls went to both WERNICK and NORRIS with honorable mention to HELDMAN……meanwhile, Team Harris took it on the chin again, losing to Team Glassman 10-5………..with two games left Team Harris looks doomed to “win” the Pink Shirt………NO MORE GAME REPORTS TO GIVE AS THE CAPTAINS ONCE AGAIN HAVEN’T REPORTED IN AS REQUESTED……. if a player on a team wants to report in, feel free to do so……….. r.rosenthal@fuse.net……………
