Thursday August 7…………10:00 a.m………..Kudos go out to DAVID FOX as Team Kirzner defeated Team Harris 11-7……..the veteran righthander (that means you’re OLD) pitched, fielded and hit like a true pro…..NO official count on assists, but it had to be about six or seven and just ONE walk……….Team Eppstein lost again…………this time to Team Newman and is still in the running with Team Harris for the infamous Pink Shirt!!!!!!!……..Team Schwartz defeated Team Glassman and one JEFF “little fink” FINKELSTEIN was NOT a happy camper after the game as he was a tad upset and let anyone who wanted to listen to him (me) know about it………it seems that he’s upset about the drafting of his team and was NOT afraid to speak out……..Are you listening Softball Commission????????………Team Grefer continued to “dominate” as they whipped up on Team Gordon……..again, team spokesman STEVE OSTROW wouldn’t comment to The Blog unless he/it would take his Xavier cap off……..Kudos also go out to two fans (I think from that school up in Dayton that Xavier always seems to beat in basketball) for filling in for an absent umpire…..rumor has it they did a GREAT job…….maybe they’re onto something!………do the young guys know that way back in the day, the league had volunteer umpires?……….LENNY LOEB made a return after being out a few weeks with an undisclosed ailment…….Welcome back!……… r.rosenthal@fuse.net ………….

Thursday July 31…………10:57 a.m…………only one game to report on from last night and that comes from MARK “GORDY” GORDON…….Team Schwartz nipped Team Gordon 2-1 as HOWARD SCHWARTZ AND JOEL TSEVAT were hooked in a good old fashioned pitcher’s dual……..the lone runs were scored on sac flies from SCHWARTZ and U.C. “graduate” BRAD WAGNER……….COMMISH GIG, STEVE EPPSTEIN AND ROGER ROSENTHAL closed down BW3’s last night and went off to UDF for doughnuts and ice cream (NOT ROGER)…..SPECIAL THANKS AGAIN GO TO THE COMMISH for treating those at BW3’s…….he’s such as swell guy……at least the lady servers think so mailto:sr.rosenthal@fuse.net ……………..

Monday July 28………..1:58 p.m………..Get well wishes go out to softballer LENNY LOEB as he’s back from a few day stay in the hospital……I visited him at home this morning and he seems all ready to go back to work and start playing again next ………..Captain DEE HARRIS is praying HARD for rain this week……..wonder why????????……….after losing three straight at home to the Rockies, are the Reds still in in or not???????………BIG FOUR GAME SERIES STARTS TONIGHT IN MILWAUKEE……..Cubs vs. Brewers………. r.rosenthal@fuse.net ………………
