TEAM GUTTMAN, (4-0), continued to roll in their third straight 10 run game, as they defeated TEAM LEADER, (1-2), 14-4, in six innings……in a total team effort, “THE ROCKET” had three hits with two runs scored, two RBI’s and a stolen base….JEFF “BRICK HAUS” NASH was 3 for 3 with two runs scored and three RBI’s…….BRANDON “B LE B” had a 3 for 3 game with one run scored and an RBI and finally JASON “BIG HAUS” FAUST was 3 for 3 with one run scored and three RBI’s…..kudos also go to JOEL ELLISON for a diving snare in LF with two outs and the bases loaded to save three or possiblly four runs………rumor has it that the Commission is looking into MVP candidate to date JASON “BIG HAUS” FAUST to determine if he is using an illegal substance on the ball……STAY TUNED!!!

TEAM ROTHSTEIN (2-1) defeated TEAM CRONSTEIN (3-1) surprisingly in easy fashion by a 17-2 score……JORDAN EVANS returned from college and had an instant impact on the field, while brother MITCH EVANS performed well too……game balls went to two long time vets, STEVE “DONUT MAN” EPPSTEIN for holding a solid TEAM CRONSTEIN offense to only two runs and to DOUG SANDOR for delivering key hits in spite of being plunked in the head by a MIKE SMALL throw early in the game….afterwards, captain MICHAEL ROTHSTEIN already was looking towards next week’s pivital game vs. still undefeated TEAM GUTTMAN

*****ADD ON TO ROTHSTEIN/CRONSTEIN GAME…..an unnamed player on TEAM CRONSTEIN was a bit hot under the collar after MICHAEL ROTHSTEIN had a shift on a particular player in a 17-2 game…….afterwards ADAM CRONSTEIN had NO comment…….STAY TUNED!!!!!

TEAM WAGNER captain BRAD “WAGS” WAGNER” reported in on his team’s 6-4 loss to TEAM SCHWARTZ with nothing much to say about his team, but shouting accolades to the pitching of HOWARD SCHWARTZ and the BIG hit off the bat of ALLEN COHEN….kudos also go out to BIG AL LESSURE for providing post-game salsa treats…..mmmmmmmm…….ANDY MESSER returned for a cameo appearance as a sub, before moving to NYC this summer……Good Luck Andy!!!!!

This in from where are they now dept…….

JOEL “SPARKY” FOGEL is scheduled to make his 2012 debut tomorrow night as TEAM CRONSTEIN, 3-0, will welcome the two time MVP……FOGEL, normally a shortstop, will probably see action at third base, but states he’s a team player and doesn’t want to mess with the so far successful chemistry of the team……he’s been staying in shape in the off season with the help of former player (now washed up) DAVE WERNICK in training sessions……he’s signed to a week by week contract as he still will miss some first half games…….STAY TUNED…….

Apologies to MICHAEL ROTHSTEIN as he sent in a game report, but somehow the e-mail never was received…….here is the report…….rookie MITCH EVANS got the game ball thanks to a game saving catch in the outfield with the bases loaded and a couple of key hits……COREY NORRIS pitched three scoreless innings…….DOUG SANDOR played great defense along with “old timer” MICHAEL KADETZ’ difficult catch to key the defensive effort…..captain MICHAEL ROTHSTEIN also gave kudos to the other team in saying that WILLIE WAXLER played great defense and got some key hits……..

ON A SERIOUS NOTE…….Condolences go out to JOHNNY BERG on the passing of his father……he and his wife were fixtures at almost every game JOHNNY  played in and he will be sorely missed…….

A tidbit that wasn’t mentioned in the blog last week and brought to my attention from HOWARD SCHWARTZ  is the fact that not only did RON ROSE play with JACK COHEN’S grandfather and ALLEN COHEN’S FATHER, but is the oldest player in the league (81 years young) and maybe the country….

Hooray for ADAM CRONSTEIN for reporting in first this week!!!!!!…….TEAM CRONSTEIN is now 3-0 after defeating TEAM SCHWARTZ, 10-7, behind the pitching of “SUPER” STU WEINSTEIN and the overall solid defense and timely hitting as a team…….first year player DAN SCHWARTZ had two hits and scored twice while DAN “COSTCO MAN” CRONSTEIN and WEINSTEIN each had key RBI doubles….also noted was the play of MICHAEL ASKIN, contributing two hits, two stolen bases and one run scored…..meanwhile, tooting his own horn for Captain Of The Year Honors, captain ADAM CRONSTEIN collected two hits with a walk, double and third homerun along with three RBI’s and three stolen bases………afterwards being quoted, “I just hope our team can keep playing loose and keep playing solid defense. If we can do that, hopefully we can keep riding this wave and continue to win games.”……

In other action, TEAM WAGNER captain BRAD “WAGS” WAGNER, reports in of a 8-6 lost to TEAM ROTHSTEIN…..COREY NORRIS got the victory, while STEVE EPPSTEIN started the game and came back in to capture a rare save…..TEAM WAGNER welcomed back defending MVP MATT STEINBERG, who was playing his first game of the season after “vacationing” in Poland…..he started off where he left off with a homerun…..also noted was the fine defense by JORDAN COHEN and WILL WAXLER….still looking for victory # 1, TEAM WAGNER plays another winless team TEAM SCHWARTZ next week…….something must give…….STAY TUNED….. also former All-Star JOHN BERG will be back in action and try to jump start the team and let’s not forget about SUPER FANS…..MR. and MRS. BERG, always cheering their son on…….

TEAM GUTTMAN finalllllllllllllllllllllly reported in after I told captain BRANDON GUTTMAN, he was the BEST captain to report in……….they continued their undefeated season by defeating TEAM LEFTON, 15-5, B LeB had two homeruns, while BG had two triples and JASON “BIG HAUS” FAUST kept his mastery on the mound going…….
